Dear community,
We're heading toward the next release of Om2008 now. The current bug
list could be obtained by custom query keyword 'Om2008.11' on
docs.openmoko.org. Our team will work on some of the tickets, smooth
out minor issues so the testing team could have time to test and

This might be the cause, but the issue itself still need to be fixed.

A brief summary of what the optimization team did last week:
Erin worked on qtopia to improve the network registering time.
Qtopia 4.3.2: camp network about 26~36 sec and it would display 'No
Network' on screen before that.
Qt extended 4.4.2: 40 sec from qpe main() to Ready

Dear community,
On the organization chart we were called 'optimization' team so I put
this in the subject, even though my ideal name would be something like
'Keroro' [1].
Olv and Erin provided an experimental fastboot images for the

Hi,
We will still do a 2008.11 release so it will be in stable soon. If
you don't to wait, you can switch to testing repo.

okay let's give it a try. merged into om svn and will be used as the
default gsmhandset.state in the next build.
the qtopia echo patch along with this state file still leaves a little
echo and buzzing, but doesn't really effect the talking.

And please read my comment below. I have to say I don't like opinions
like this but I will take it as a result of high expectation. We will
keep sending to the public list once we have something, com

Hi,
Thanks for starting this page. It's on my list but I'm too slow. I
would like to use it to reflect the latest status, so it will be
better if we *only* do the the discussion here on the mailing list in
the 'Back to the basics' thread. In the meantime, the current todo
list there was NOT wri
e then it currently
is before the next big thing - fso + tichy (?) + paroli , but
enhancements which could be brought to the new software stack will get
higher priority. People (including myself) still need to use the
phone before that. :)

Hi,
Like Wolfgang said in

We assembled a team to focus on improving the user experience. Here

* Reduce boot time.
* Optimize the touch screen driver on freerunner for finger usage.

With my FOSS developer's hat on instead of OM employee's, I agree with
what you said here. Our resource is very limited so it's better to
