Three things I see missing from the mix nowadays which made ATT so powerful.

their own manufacturing. Not a p[hone sold, installed, used on

Actually it's my son with the Zune. I'm perfectly happy with my old Sandisk.
But since the subject came up, squirting is SO last week. The Zune software
was updated on 9/16 and it's VERY slick. The Zune is now wi-fi enabled, so

Tell me about it.
In 2003, I bought a cell phone plan with ATT Wireless. They've since
been bought out by Cingular who has since changed their name to ATT.
When calling in for questions, I'm still in the habit of asking if the

I'd have at least three backup media, and use them in rotation. Very important
files would go on CD monthly, at least. The broader the coverage, the better.

Tom will just note that you compare the latest and greatest from MS to
Apple's oldest model. Your having to resort to that to squeek out a
favorable comparison speaks volumes.
No, actually I compared it to the current iPod that sells for the same $249
price. That strikes you as unfair?

Oldest? It just came out with an updated model. Unless oldest is a week
old. The zune 120 isn't going to be compared to a touch...and not to a
nano. The 120 is a competitor to...you guessed it, Apple's 120 gig ipod.

The expectation is that it will soon be history.
Maybe it's because a 32GB touch is $450 while a 120GB Zune or iPod

At least price wise, I'll have to side with Tom.
Sure, you can buy an iPod Touch 32gb

My mistake, I thought this had to do with features. Didn't realize it was a

Apple notes that iPods with large drives do not sell in large numbers.

Why do the MFB's have a hard time making sense.
People who would buy a zune would not in turn buy a touch instead. Or vice
versa..different market. Not that hard to tell looking at specs or even
pictures of the product.
They would buy a player from SanDisk or Creative. There are valid choices

No it is because that feature set is no longer compelling. Ditto for the

So apple is going to switch to just selling a touch? Odd since apple went
after the zune design for the new nano.

Go ahead and scoff at the iPod for being merely popular, but
achieving popularity is exactly the right measure. Popularity
is the sum total of all the features weighted by their
significance to the people manking [sic] the purchase.
So, that would mean that Windows is far superior to MacOS.
Really. And when exactly was that? The current Zune has a better
feature set than the current iPod Classic by any rational measure, which
is all I
said, and which you are apparently unable to contest sine you continue to
dance around it. It doesn't matter what Apple is doing with the classic
