This is the first maintenance and security update for 10.5.

I used to have a Netgear Wired Router with an
Access Point for my LapTop. It was a b network. My laptop was connected
without any problems except that in my daughter´s
room the signal was very week.
I then decided to do a brave thing, Change the
network to a Linksys Wireless Router. Followed
Hi,
When I installed Ubuntu I got the Ubuntu Studio distribution basically because
I thought it looked cool, not because I am an A/V enthusiast.
Now I would like to upgrade to Feisty Fawn to Gutsy Gibbon. It is my
impression that this is a routine procedure, but I am curious whether my not

I have recently started using iTunes to rip CD's. The drive
itself is fine, I can look at DVD's with no problem,
CD's iTunes are another issue.
It's not unusual for me to have to reboot. Force quit...
I started doing this after I installed Leopard.

I am thinking about upgrading the memory in my iMac G4 (700). I

I'm happy with Tiger. How hard is it to access the the RAM to change
it? I've done it on other Macs, on PowerBooks, and on PCs, so I'm

Someone on the list said that they were going to wait until
Leopard Mac OS X 10.5.1 came up before making a purchase.
I'm actually more interested in the dot 11 update to Tiger. The dot 10
caused so much instability with Creative Suite that I wasn't using it. I
sure hope that dot 11 fixes

Datamem wants $69 for this part. I see that today Memory-Up also lists
it for $69. Crucial is simply overpriced.
You have been proven very wrong for such a broad statement in the past.
However, a stopped clock

Is it a good idea to take advice from someone who pays double the going
price and is happy about it?
You go right ahead and keep paying more for your cheap-o RAM; it makes no
difference to me. I'll keep paying the lower prices I get from Crucial and
being productive.
Just keep telling your
I'm having a problem with iChat. I loaded OS X.5 and wanted to play
with the new video effects features, but they are grayed out. I'm
running an iMac G5 1.8ghz with 512mb memory, just as the box says I
need. Apple gives no info I can find as to why this feature would be
grayed out and not
Hello, folks,
My husband is creating a Word document (for a class that requires a
Word doc as the final presentation) on his Macbook, which has MS Office
2004 loaded on it. Word will create a table of contents for the
document, but does not automatically hyperlink the content entries, as

I found this list of what it claims to fix at.

Thanks for pointing out about the different slots. I knew that
there were two slots, but I didn't realize that I was looking at the
memory for the factory slot when I looked at Memory-Up. I looked up
the manual online at Apple.com. It should be no problem to change the
memory.

I did have one question after reading the Apple manual. It

Does anyone have any idea on, how I can replace the feet on my

Go to the hardware store (Home Depot will do) and look for something called
bumpers. They come in various sizes and shapes. Make good feet for all
sorts of boxes. They generally come in sets of four, so one package will do
one box. They already have glue on one side. Remove the protective
Thanks. I wondered if that might be the rationale. I have always tried
to make sure I was grounded and discharged any static electricity
before touching the components.

Thanks for your time. I couldn't find this. Sounds like I'm out of
luck. It sounds like I have everything but that Intel processor. Why
that's needed I have no idea. I seem to meet all the other requirements.
The whole thing sounds a bit like false advertising as far as I'm
concerned. I

This is not an unusual story. Apple's excellent customer service will
often bend over backwards to treat a customer right. So you should not
