During his days as a federal prosecutor in New York, Fitzgerald started a 1996 criminal investigation of Osama bin Laden. He was allowed to talk to foreign police officers, foreign intelligence agencies and even al-Qaida members. He was prohibited from talking to the FBI team across the street conducting the intelligence investigation. "Repealing the Patriot Act would put that wall back up, which is a danger both to all of our safety and all of our civil liberties," Fitzgerald said Mayor Daley appeared to sympathize with Fitzgerald. "We live in a very challenging time. No one wants to jump on anyone's . . . civil rights and human rights. But 9/11 gave us a different perspective with regards to terrorism," the mayor said. Aldermen who went on record against the Iraq war were not convinced. "The danger is that we are slowly eroding our most cherished constitutional freedoms. The act is being employed most often against immigrants and noncitizens. But it's a slippery slope," said Ald. Joseph Moore (49th). We have no way of knowing, and that's what we're objecting to. These people are not entitled to a lawyer. They can be swept up off the streets. Their family does not have to be notified. You cannot even determine who they're holding, what department has them. -Caveat Lector- In theory, with the use of 'smart bombs' it isn't necessary to be able to visually site a target; most of the bombs are being delivered via missiles which have been launched from hundreds of miles away; even those dropped from aircraft utilize computer technology to hone in on a target previously defined via satellite reconaissance...IOW, the target is programmed into the missile's software, so it doesn't matter whether lights are on in Baghdad or not, the missile would still find its target even in complete darkness... Big HIV Problem Hits Small S.D. College Town

A South Dakota college basketball player who tested positive for HIV was arrested
this week in a case that has led health officials to two other new infections and what
they are calling a web of sexual contacts that numbers in the hundreds.
The cases--and the great number of people believed exposed--have rocked a state
that last year reported only 22 new HIV cases.
Nikko Briteramos, an 18-year-old freshman at tiny SiTanka Huron University, was
charged Tuesday with knowingly having unprotected sex since learning of his HIV
status last month. His infection was detected through routine surveillance when he
gave blood during a school drive. After that individual knew that he was HIV positive
. . . he was discovered having unprotected sex with a partner who did not know,
Gov. William Janklow said Friday at a news conference. That, my friends, is no
different from pointing a gun at someone and pulling the trigger.
The 6-foot-7 center arrived in Huron in August from Chicago. Already, two individuals
known to have had contact with him have tested positive for the virus. Scores more
who tested negative initially have been told they must be retested over the next six
months.
Briteramos is the first person to be charged under a two-year-old state law that
makes it a felony to intentionally expose someone to HIV. He was charged with five
felony counts, which prosecutors said are related to a single partner. If convicted, he
faces up to 75 years in prison and $75,000 in fines.
Within hours of the positive test result in late March, public health officials
interviewed Briteramos and began contacting the list of recent sexual contacts he
provided them.
Janklow said Friday that one woman provided names of 70 people who need to be
informed of the problem. The numbers involved have shocked people in Huron,
where the 100-year-old school is a major employer. The tribal university has an
enrollment of about 600 students.
I think what's really surprising people are the numbers, said John Deniger, who
owns an auto dealership and sits on the university's foundation board. One
individual supposedly had 70 contacts. I don't think it's normal for anywhere.
Deniger said the community of 13,000 has pulled together in recent days, with
educational meetings at the high school as well as on the university campus.
Public health officials said the cases have been eye-opening for people in a state
where there has been little fear of contracting HIV/AIDS. Now we are getting a lot of
people off the street who have heard the risk factors and are scared and want to be
tested, said state Secretary of Health Doneen Hollingsworth.
Hollingsworth said the state this year has reports of nine new HIV infections, making
this cluster in one location particularly alarming. She said it will be months before
they know how many infections can be traced to Briteramos.
In addition, public health officials have had to contact other state health departments
for help in tracking down individuals who had contact with any of the three new
cases. Hollingsworth said that, while officials believe most of the people were
exposed through sex, they cannot rule out shared needles during drug use.
South Dakota has consistently ranked second lowest in HIV infection rates. Janklow
said Friday that the episode has been sobering for residents in a state known for
wide-open spaces and quiet living.

Department of Investigation city marshal trying to evict a tenant from a three-story Brooklyn apartment building yesterday afternoon was killed when an argument with tenants escalated into a vicious fight near the building's entrance that ended when he was set afire, the police said. The authorities said the marshal, Erskine G. Bryce, 66, was serving his last set of eviction papers of the day at 50 New York Avenue in Bedford- Stuyvesant when the fight began. Mr. Bryce, with his clothes burned entirely off his body and his pistol nearby, was pronounced dead on the stairwell near the ground floor minutes later. It was the first killing of a working city marshal since 1984, and angry city officials said Mr. Bryce died in what would ordinarily be tense but routine circumstances: he was to deliver court papers and padlock an apartment door. It's unthinkable that something like this could happen in the course of carrying out the legal requirements of this job, Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani said at an appearance in Brooklyn at which he expressed condolence to Mr. Bryce's family. Detectives were questioning a second-floor tenant, JoAnna Jones, and her son Rodney, 23, at the 79th Precinct station house last night, and the authorities said Ms. Jones had told them that her boyfriend had fought with and killed Mr. Bryce in the hallway outside her door. The police initially could not find the boyfriend, whom they identified as Antoine (Barry) Bennaugh, 39, and as detectives questioned Ms. Jones, a police emergency unit swept through the neighborhood, going from house to house with weapons drawn and dogs on leashes. They looked under cars, in a shed and in a vegetable garden, without success. Later, the police said, Mr. Bennaugh walked calmly up to officers who were stationed at the crime scene, and he was taken to the station house for questioning as well. They said that while Ms. Jones had placed the blame on her boyfriend, other witnesses said two men were seen beating Mr. Bryce, and detectives were also investigating the possibility that he had been sprayed in the face with an aerosol can during the fight and ignited, perhaps accidentally, with a cigarette. New York City's 41 marshals, who serve five-year terms under mayoral appointment, are peace officers, and are allowed to carry licensed handguns. One police official said Mr. Bryce had two pistols registered to his name, one of which, a .380-caliber Glock semiautomatic, was found on the stairwell near his body. As stated, the head of the McVeigh defense team, attorney Stephen Jones, prior to the 1997 McVeigh murder trial, filed a Petition for Mandamus, an extra-ordinary attempted remedy in the U.S. Court of Appeals, 10th Circuit, Denver. Because of perceived prejudice against a fair trial in Oklahoma, the case had been transferred to Denver U.S. District Judge Richard Matsch. Prior to the beginning of the trial, Jones was attempting to force Judge Matsch to order the release of secret records in the possession of U.S. intelligence agencies, corroborating that U.S. dissidents were secretly surrogates for an Iraqi revenge plot to carry out a major terrorist attack on an Oklahoma City federal office building. That these records, also referred to in secret court records, would show Iraqi complicity, as known in advance by U.S. intelligence agencies, as referred to in Jones' unpublicized Petition of some 185 pages. The spy-riddled monopoly press did not bring out an important detail. Namely, that Judge Matsch was intimidated into keeping these records secret to protect the Clinton White House cover-up of the multiple bombings of the Murrah Building as well as protecting the FBI, the CIA, the NSA, and others of the spy agency Establishment. How? Judge Matsch's daughter was apparently murdered. She somehow fell into a volcano in Hawaii. This apparent murder made the Judge naturally distraught. The apparent murder example also was known to and intimidated the Federal Appeals Judges in Denver who after the McVeigh murder trial, conducted without these highly revealing records, upheld the District Court's guilty verdict of McVeigh. So both the trial judge and the federal appeals Judges in Denver had been coerced into going along with a cover up by murder close to home. Will trial Judge Matsch and/or the federal appeals judges, all apparently intimidated by the apparent murder, do something at this late date to bring out the true nature of the bombings of a federal office building in Oklahoma City? 2. The apparent split in the FBI by which some three thousand records suddenly showed up also involves the super-secret Federal Emergency Management Agency, FEMA. Seldom accurately referred to by the pressfakers, FEMA is not authorized OR FUNDED by Congress. According to very well placed sources, FEMA secretly funds their covert operations, planning to run the U.S. FROM ABOVE THE U.S. CONSTITUTION, with huge funds garnered from the CIA's dope trafficking into the U.S. Vice President Richard Cheney has promoted the idea that FEMA should take over all anti-terrorist planning of the U.S., thus excluding the FBI, and causing a rift between the FBI and FEMA. Yes, FEMA seeks to run the U.S. from ABOVE the U.S. Constitution and yes, I recognize such a doing is itself unconstitutional. [The martial law edict, quietly signed several years ago by President Clinton and carried over by alleged President or White House resident George W. Bush, provides---now get this---that no judge in the U.S. has jurisdiction to consider any challenge to the martial law edict. We are about the only ones publicly stating that several federal judges in the U.S. wear two hats---one as federal judge, and two, generally unknown, as FEMA official. One such judge sits in the Federal Court in Chicago. We pointed all these details out in a several hundred page documented lawsuit, in January, 1991, against FEMA, in Chicago's Federal District Court. Yes, a federal judge on behalf of FEMA dismissed our suit in secret, without any legal formality.] 3. Despite the military coup planned against Clinton as President, referred to in our story, Clinton was never concerned. Why? Because he had reason to know that his rise to and stay in power was orchestrated with the aid of blackmail and murder. We mentioned how supposed Independent Counsel Kenneth W. Starr was blackmailed. Clinton benefitted from an epidemic of suspicious if not sabotaged military aircraft crashes and from the strange death of those who knew too much about Clinton and about the military coup plot against him. One of those who knew too much and was reportedly sympathetic if not supportive of the coup, was General David McCloud, head of he Alaska Military District. He died in a sabotaged plane crash. His military colleagues are aware of the terrible details but refuse to allow a reporter to publicly identify them or take their position public. His relatives tend to agree with our details. 4. Some in the monopoly press, who talk to us off the record and we agree never to identify them as sources, contend such details as in our stories, which they believe to be true but cannot go in print or on the air with them, could well topple the U.S. government.

Coverdale lost two grandchildren in the day care center of the Murrah Building. Many of the FBI agents who mishandled WACO in addition to Ricks were also directly involved in the OKC bombing coverup and were from the OKC FBI field office. One FBI agent named Gray was in the FBI communications center at WACO listening to all the FBI bugs in the compound. Gray was a negotiator who supposedly retired after Waco. But strangely enough, he was on the scene at the bomb site by 9;30 am on 4/19/1995 with his FBI jacket on to do negotiations with McVeigh? Smacks of foreknowledge doesn't it! My source of this story is OKC police officer Don Browning who was K9 unit that found living and dead in the rubble. Browning knows FBI agent Gray and testified against Gray at the Oklahoma County Grand Jury investigating the bombing. The Grand Jury never called Gray to respond to the allegations. The FBI has immunity in these cases we were told and does not have to testify before state or county grand juries!! Remember McVeigh said during his 60 minutes interview that he held the FBI more responsible for Waco than the BATF. MCVeigh also wrote a letter to the Oklahoma Gazette with even stronger allegations against the FBI. The FBI had agents in the Murrah building every day at 9am and dropped off kids at the day care center. But the FBI was tipped and did not show up inside the Murrah building on the morning of 4/19/1995. What happened? by Howard Altman and Jim Barry First of a Two-Part Series October 20, 1995 was a big day in the lives of State Attorney General narcotics investigator John McLaughlin and his crew. That's the day they stopped two Dominican nationals in North Philadelphia and began to learn how cocaine and heroin were being pumped into Philly to help fund a candidate for the presidency of the Dominican Republic. Eventually, McLaughlin and the other members of the Bureau of Narcotics Investigations and Drug Control (BNI) would learn how the DEA had its own investigations into similar drug-funded campaign financing operations in New York and New England. They would discover that the CIA was fully aware that the U.S.-embassy-backed candidate was suspected of drug smuggling. The BNI also would learn that some Dominican political party members under investigation for narco-trafficking and money laundering wound up contributing thousands at a September 1996 New York State Democratic Committee fundraiser attended by Al Gore. Then, two weeks after BNI's thwarted attempt to seize more than a half-million dollars in allegedly drug-tainted campaign funds from the Dominican presidential candidate, who was on a fundraising trip to the States, federal and local prosecutors said they would no longer work with McLaughlin or his team. After uncovering the Dominican Connection, McLaughlin found that, like other officers around the country, there was a complete shutdown of his investigations by prosecutors, who accused him and his partners of lying and conducting illegal searches and seizures. Like other officers around the country who found their investigations thwarted after encountering Dominican drug dealers, McLaughlin and crew eventually sued law enforcement - in this case their employer, the State Attorney General's Office, and their chief doubter, the U.S. Attorney's Office. The suit was filed after two separate investigations - one by a top deputy AG and one a federal grand jury probe by the FBI- found McLaughlin and his squad guilty of no crimes or misconduct. The path finders: BNI narcotics investigator John "Sparky" McLaughlin in the Nissan Pathfinder his unit seized from a drug suspect. Earlier this month, a Third District Court of Appeals judge ruled that McLaughlin, Charlie Micewski and Dennis McKeefery - barring intervention by the U.S. Supreme Court - can have their day in court. Seattle City Council President Sue Donaldson convened last night's unprecedented eight-hour public hearing to give people a chance to tell city officials what happened on the streets and in the jails during last week's World Trade Organization meeting. But the marathon of testimony by some 120 people will provide a powerful backdrop of anger and frustration as a task force of three council members launches what could be one of the most explosive investigations in the city's history. "It galvanized my determination to get some answers for what the hell went wrong," said Councilman Jim Compton, who will chair the ad hoc committee doing the investigation. "There were some genuine horror stories I heard." Hundreds of people packed the downtown library's woefully inadequate auditorium for a chance to complain about their treatment. The ground rules were simple: three minutes to speak out. By 4 p.m., as the public hearing got under way, the line of speakers stretched out the library's Fifth Avenue doors and around the block. Even the pouring rain and long wait did little to discourage those who came to speak their piece. "I feel it is important for everyone to learn what happened," said Russ Wilson, 30, of Seattle. "When we get together, it seems our voices can be heard." But the crowd quickly grew restless. A broken cable cut sound to the loudspeaker outside. Dozens of people crowded around the smoked-glass windows of the auditorium to watch. There were heated exchanges at the doors as security guards refused to let any more people inside. "This is very symbolic to me: the whole issue is about being heard," fumed Sam Eliason, 36, who took the day off work to attend. "There has got to be a room around here that could fit everyone. How about the stadium? We bought it." In a bid to defuse tensions over the inadequate space, Donaldson hastily scheduled a second public hearing at Seattle Center on Tuesday. The exact location will be determined later, but the meeting will begin at 4 p.m. Not all the council was there Only five of the City Council members stayed for all or at least most of the public hearing. Margaret Pageler did not attend at all. Peter Clarke, Pageler's legislative aide, said she could not attend because she had two other committments, including a meeting with the state Board of Health. Retiring Councilwoman Tina Podlodowski left early to pick up her children and did not return. The mayor-council rift In some ways, it was probably a good thing the city's top politician wasn't around; he might have been booed from the room. Knuth) "The City" is an international financial oligarchy and is perhaps the most arbitrary and absolute form of government in the world. This international financial oligarchy uses the allegoric "Crown" as its symbol of power and has its headquarters in the ancient City of London, an area of 677 acres; which strangely in all the vast expanse of the 443,455 acres of Metropolitan London alone is not under the jurisdiction of the Metropolitan Police, but has its own private force of about 2,000 men, while its night population is under 9,000. That the British people and the British Parliament have little to say in the foreign affairs of the British Empire, and that the people of the British Empire must fight when International Finance and the City blow the trumpet, appears from the paean of praise of America by Andrew Carnegie, "Triumphant Democracy," published in 1886 by that American super-industrialist and British newspaper publisher, in the following words: "My American readers may not be aware of the fact that, while in Britain an act of Parliament is necessary before works for a supply of water or a mile of railway can be constructed, six or seven men can plunge the nation into war, or, what is perhaps equally disastrous, commit it to entangling alliances without consulting Parliament at all. The Balance of Power is a creation of this financial oligarchy and its purposes are as follows: (1) To divide the nations of Europe into two antagonistic camps of nearly equal military weight, so as to retain for Britain itself the power to sway a decision either way. (2) To make the leading and potentially most dangerous military power the particular prey of British suppression and to have the second strongest power on the other side. To subsidize the "Most Favored Nations" with financial investments, and to permit them to acquire political advantages under the beneficent protection of the Sea-Power, to the disadvantage and at the expense of the nations being suppressed. (3) To subject the continent of Europe to the "Policy of Encirclement" so as to keep the nations of the continent in poverty and ineffectiveness, and thereby prevent the growth of sufficient commercial expansion and wealth to create a rival sea-power. (4) To retain that complete control and hegemony over all the seas of the world, which was acquired by defeating the allied fleets of its only real rivals, France and Spain, in 1805; and which is artfully and subtly called "The Freedom of the Seas." John Lee TODAY's COMMUNIQUE By Authority of Ephesians 5:11 == http://www.cityoflondon.gov.uk THE CITY When people think of England such terms as 'Great Britain,' 'The Queen,' 'The Crown,' 'Crown Colonies,' 'London,' 'The City of London,' and 'British Empire' come to mind and blend together into an indistinguishable blur. They are generally looked upon as synonymous, as being representative of the same basic system. During the 1950s and 1960s the author lived in England (London for five years) without even beginning to realize the vast difference that exists in the meaning of some of the above terms. When people hear of 'The Crown' they automatically think of the King or Queen; when they hear of 'London' or the 'The City' they instantly think of the capital of England in which the monarch has his or her official residence. To fully understand the unique and generally unknown subject we must define our terms: When we speak of 'The City' we are in fact referring to a privately owned Corporation - or Sovereign State - occupying an irregular rectangle of 677 acres and located right in the heart of the 610 square mile 'Greater London' area. The population of 'The City' is listed at just over four thousand, whereas the population of 'Greater London' (32 boroughs) is approximately seven and a half million. The 'Crown' is a committee of twelve to fourteen men who rule the independent sovereign state known as London or 'The City.' 'The City' is not part of England. It is not subject to the Sovereign. It is not under the rule of the British parliament. Like the Vatican in Rome, it is a separate, independent state. It is the Vatican of the commercial world. The City, which is often called "the wealthiest square mile on earth," is ruled over by a Lord Mayor. Here are grouped together Britian's great financial and commercial institutions: Wealthy banks, dominated by the privately-owned (Rothschild controlled) Bank of England, Lloyd's of London, the London Stock Exchange, and the offices of most of the leading international trading concerns. [Such as the British Invisibles, I kid you not]. Here, also, is located Fleet Street, the heart and core of the newspaper and publishing worlds. TWO MONARCHS The Lord Mayor, who is elected for a one year stint, is the monarch in the City. As Aubrey Menen says in "London", Time-Life, 1976, p. 16: "The relation of this monarch of the City to the monarch of the realm [Queen] is curious and tells much." It certainly is and certainly does ! When the Queen of England goes to visit the City she is met by the Lord Mayor at Temple Bar, the symbolic gate of the City. She bows and asks for permission to enter his private, sovereign State. During such State visits "the Lord Mayor in his robes and chain, and his entourage in medieval costume, outshines the royal party, which can dress up no furhter than service uniforms." The Lord Mayor leads the queen into his city. The reason should be clear. The Lord Mayor is the monarch. The Queen is his subject ! The monarch always leads the way. The subject always stays a pace or two behind ! The small clique who rule the City dictate to the British Parliament. It tells them what to do, and when. In theory Britian is ruled by a Prime Minister and a Cabinet of close advisers. These 'fronts' go to great lengths to create the impression that they are running the show but, in reality, they are mere puppets whose strings are pulled by the shadowy characters who dominate behind the scenes. As the former British Prime Minister of England during the late 1800s Benjamin D'israeli wrote: "So you see... the world is governed by very different personages from what is imagined by those who are not behind the scenes" (Coningsby, The Century Co., N.Y., 1907, p. 233). This fact is further demonstrated by another passage from Menen's book: "The Prime Minister, a busy politician, is not expected to understand the mysteries of high finance, while the Chancellor of the Exchequer [Budget Director] is only expected to understand them when he introduces the budget. Both are advised by the permanent officials of the Treasury, and these listen to the City. If they suspect that some policy of the government will [back-fire]... it is no use their calling up British ambassadors to ask if it is so; they can find out more quickly from the City. As one ambassador complained to me, diplomats are nowadays no more than office boys, and slow ones at that. "The City will know. They will tell the Treasury and the Treasury will tell the Prime Minister. Woe betide him if he does not listen. The most striking instance of this happened in recent history. There is a serous vein of scholarship which holds that the Oklahoma City bombing may have actually the result of an attack by an electromagnetic pulse (emp) weapon. On-site observations of the damage were apparently more like the results of an emp weapon, than of the jhome made fertilizer bomb to which the damage was officially ascribed. It used to be easy to mock the excesses of commercialism through parody that revealed the cost of commercial appropriation of public and community space. No more, thanks to Sacramento, California's state capital. Last year, the Sacramento City Council approved a plan to launch a "Capital Spirit" corporate sponsorship program that will blanket the city. The program is just now getting under way, with sponsorship deals for non-alcoholic beverage and telecommunications companies under negotiation. A feasibility study prepared by The Wilkinson Group, a consulting firm hired by the city, recommends a wide-ranging corporate sponsorship program involving all city departments. When the program is fully operational, the consulting firm projects an earning stream for the city of $2 million to $5 million a year. The city's plan calls for: an official car rental partner for the city (potential partners named include Avis, Budget, Enterprise and Thrifty), a preferred ice cream (potential partners: Baskin Robbins, Dreyers, Nestle), preferred food suppliers for the police and fire departments and the convention center, an official film (potential partners: Fuji, Kodak, Polaroid), an official delivery service (potential partners: Airborne Express, DHL, U.S. Postal Service, FedEx, UPS), a preferred coffee and an official departmental coffee supplier (potential partners: Java Centrale, Maxwell House, Folger's, Millstone, Pete's, Starbucks), official wear for park and recreation staff (potential partners include REI), official software and official computer of Sacramento, official computer of specific departments (potential partners include: Oracle, Sun, Apple, 3COM), exclusive security for Sacramento, and more. Our favorite: official undergarment supplier for city police, fire and security! From the city's point of view, these are opportunities too good to pass up. Using "existing facilities," at no cost to the city, explains Sacramento Senior Management Analyst Michelle Nelson, Sacramento will generate funds to improve parks and recreational facilities, and to undertake other capital improvements. The potential income stream will be, at most, little more than 1 percent of Sacramento's $451 million annual budget, but Nelson says the money will be used for investments that would otherwise not be funded. California law makes it difficult or impossible for cities to act to raise their own taxes. There is no illusion in the Sacramento program that the corporate contributions are charity -- this is not a low-key adopt-a-highway-style program. Instead, explains the consultant report, "When establishing a sponsorship program, a property must clearly indicate how sponsorship of their program will positively impact the sponsor's revenue streams." Key elements in delivering value to sponsors include: giving sponsors the imprimatur of official city approval, providing sponsors with exclusive marketing rights in designated areas (zoos, parks, historic tourist areas, etc), enabling the companies to seem "part of the community" (by identifying a refurbished teen center, for example, as "paid for by The Gap") and providing "signage" on public properties in highly trafficked areas. Yet all of these ways of "providing specific business development opportunities and marketing-based benefits to prospective sponsors," as The Wilkinson Group calls them, are, individually and collectively, deeply troubling. Selling the city's de facto stamp of approval will inevitably place the city in the position of endorsing corporate polluters, labor-rights-violators, criminals and wrongdoers, as well as unhealthy or harmful products, such as sugar-filled soda. In some cases, the de facto stamp of approval would be an actual city endorsement. For health plans, the consultant plan suggests offering sponsors a "City of Sacramento testimonial to health care provision." The exclusive marketing rights offers outrageously facilitate consumer rip-offs and denial of choice. If they are thirsty, why should people strolling through the zoo be limited to Coke products in their product selection? Why should they be made to pay premium prices? In a very real way, the sale of exclusive marketing rights camouflages a hidden tax on consumers in the cloak of corporate generosity. The sale of "signage" -- indeed, the entire program -- marks a further encroachment of commercial values into public space and the public realm. There is a proper line delineating the public from the corporate, and government from business. The spheres represent different values, operate according to different motivations and serve different purposes. But when the commercial and public spheres overlap, it is the corporate sphere that blots out the public, never the reverse. To this, the city council's response is, according to Michelle Nelson: "Trust us." The sponsorships will be tasteful, balanced and not harm "what we hold valuable." Well, maybe they still do have a sense of

-Caveat Lector- Letter to the Editor by David Hoffman, Haight Ashbury Free Press Two years after the Oklahoma City bombing, after legal battles that reached the Oklahoma Supreme Court, a county grand jury was finally impaneled to re-investigate this terrible crime. Twelve to fourteen people spent a year and-a-half interviewing over 117 witnesses, including investigative reporters such as myself, who stated that there were other conspirators involved in this heinous crime (not just "John Doe 2"). They heard expert testimony that the building could not possibly have been brought down by a fertilizer bomb parked in the street. And they heard Carol Howe, one of the ATF's own paid informants, who had infiltrated the white supremacist cell tied to Timothy McVeigh, state that she gave the ATF advanced warning of the bombing (and she wasn't the only one to do so, or to give the ATF and FBI the names of other conspirators). And after all this -- after deliberating for 18 months and [supposedly] reviewing a mountain of evidence, all the grand jury could see fit to do was return one indictment -- against me! These grand jurors must be -- unequivocally and without a doubt -- the dumbest, stupidest, most narrow-minded people on the face of the earth. For them to ignore all the evidence that was presented to them, and render the decision that they did, is absolutely ludicrous. To fail to indict even one single bombing suspect (and they had many to choose from) then, turn around and indict a lowly reporter who was attempting to expose the truth, is absolutely ludicrous. It's insane. Still this is hardly surprising. As punishment for his courageous, civic-minded efforts, Representative Charles Key, who impaneled the grand jury, found himself harassed by local authorities and criticized by local newspapers. Even the judge who presided over the grand jury, Judge Burkette, stated when the grand jury was first impaneled that "the grand jury should rightfully indict Charles Key." Obviously these are the people who have done the influencing. Bob Macy, the same DA who originally opposed Rep. Key's effort to impanel the grand jury (in several court battles), was subsequently put in charge of it! Governor Frank Keating (a former FBI agent who personally infiltrated the New Left under the FBI's infamous COINTELPRO, and was Assistant Treasury Secretary under the Bush administration -- he oversaw the ATF when most of the guns and drugs were moving back and forth between the U.S. and Nicaragua), publicly stated that the people who impaneled this grand jury were "off the reservation" and "howling at the moon," and belittled anyone wishing to further investigate the case. State Attorney General Drew Edmondson -- who dragged Rep. Key before a multi-county grand jury to examine his bombing investigation fund-raising efforts -- claimed that further investigation would prevent the victims of the crime from experiencing a sense of "closure." And finally, the "Justice" Department and FBI (Federal Bureau of Intimidation), which coerced, manipulated, and intimidated many witnesses into altering their testimony (and murdered at least one). Obviously these are the people who influenced and coerced this grand jury (and ultimately, the entire case). These are the people who tampered with the legal process. These are the people who should be charged, or at the very least, should resign their posts in shame, for obstructing justice and lying to the American people. Unfortunately this has become a political attack on me, because in fighting for the truth, I have become a thorn in their side. I am the only reporter to file a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit against the FBI, for the surveillance tapes that would have captured all the suspects at the scene of the crime. And I am the only reporter who has filed an Open Records Act lawsuit against the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Department, for the Bomb Squad's crime scene logs, which would show that military grade explosives on the building's columns really brought that building down. (Assistant DA Cassandra Williams stated during our deposition of the Sheriff: "The crime scene logs cannot be located." Really?! For the largest crime in the history of the Sheriff's Department?! Also, don't we have a slight conflict of interest here folks? The DA who's supposed to be running an investigation into the bombing, defending a law-enforcement agency who is trying to *prevent* records from being discovered by a bombing investigator??) As for DA Bob Macy (Williams' boss), he has put 53 people on death row, some of whom he knew to be innocent.
