Jehan, Use ALT-Tab and you can get (back) to the full-screen X server window. Personally, I like this. The details of the comings and goings of the full-screen X window are perhaps not ideal, but it's nice that it goes away totally when it's not in front and that I really get the full extent

Chris, There are 139 executables in the /usr/X11R6/bin directory of my installation. Granted, most of them are just X and XFree86 utilities and elementary components, but it's more than just XTerm and XEyes. I've compiled the NCAR graphics environment (version 4.2.3) under Cygwin/XFree86.
