that there were no current Linux utilities that supported Vista's PNG
compressed 256x256+ sized icons.

This happens as well with an HP Deskjet 3740. As previously stated,
downgrading from 1.3.9-* to 1.3.8-1lenny4.1 works around this. Only
downgrading the cups package is needed, as leaving its dependencies at the
most current version (1.3.9-12) works perfectly fine.

Kernel Oops when switching off and on again an external soundcard
(M-Audio Audiophile USB) while pulseaudio is running. Happens
regularly because the soundcard often needs a hard reset.

this problem was seen up until version 1.5.18
Please check if it is reproducible in 1.5.19-1,
upstream says that it is now (check the forwarded URL),

I've seen similar problems with gnome-terminal + screen and mutt.
As Thomas says, it depends on the terminal and, above all, most
parts of this are delegated to libncurses.
I don't know what to do with this bug, probably Christoph can help.

I finally found some time to write new proposed wording for the section in
Policy on handling architecture-restricted dependencies. Could you review
this change and be sure that I'm correctly describing the situation? I
