I think it's important. They are very useful scripts. Why not just
rename them to tar-backup and tar-restore so that there is no
conflict?

Who is setting the Proxy to 'false'?
Acquire::HTTP::Proxy should be set to the Proxy (http://), or 'DIRECT',
according to APT manpage.
AFAIK it defaults to that. I haven't set up a proxy server and haven't
done anything other than accept the standard configuration on

Severity: grave
Justification: renders package useless
Hi,
the thinkpad source package has a grave bug: It cannot be compiled
against the etch Linux kernel (that is 2.6.18). As such, thinkpad is
useless and thus so is tpctl.
People fixing this should also update the package

Hi,
maybe it's intentional, but for me, it's not expected behaviour :-)
I had to run

as root to be abel to import the modules, and I wonder if that is
necessary.
Greetings,

Hi,
the thinkpad-source (even for version 6.0 as in the pkg-tpctl svn.d.o

to be the etch Linux kernel.
This makes this package useless for practical
