Bug#473748: clock-applet: Weather information out of sync
Package: gnome-panel Version: 2.26.3-1 Severity: normal I have also noticed cases where the clock applet stops tracking the weather or gets out of sync. So sometime the applet stops tracking the weather altogether. When that happens the day/night indication in the status bar will stay stuck on night for days for instance, and I no longer have weather info in the hover popup. The fix is to remove/readd the location or otherwise change it. This morning I had another out-of-sync situation: the status bar was saying it was night while the hover popup was indicating daytime (see attachement hopefully). Now I suspect this one is just a slow refresh of the status area: daytime started at 7:43, the status bar was still indicating night at 7:46, but at 7:55 it was back to normal. Maybe the status bar is only updated every 5 minutes? Might be worth updating it on the minute of the day/night transitions. -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.30-1-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=fr_FR.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=fr_FR.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages gnome-panel depends on: ii gnome-about2.26.1-1 The GNOME about box ii gnome-control-center 1:2.26.0-1utilities to configure the GNOME d ii gnome-desktop-data 2.26.1-1 Common files for GNOME 2 desktop a ii gnome-menus2.26.1-2 an implementation of the freedeskt ii gnome-panel-data 2.26.3-1 common files for the GNOME Panel ii libatk1.0-01.26.0-1 The ATK accessibility toolkit ii libbonobo2-0 2.24.1-1 Bonobo CORBA interfaces library ii libbonoboui2-0 2.24.1-1 The Bonobo UI library ii libc6 2.9-25GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libcairo2 1.8.8-2 The Cairo 2D vector graphics libra ii libdbus-1-31.2.16-2 simple interprocess messaging syst ii libdbus-glib-1-2 0.82-1simple interprocess messaging syst ii libecal1.2-7 2.26.3-1+b1 Client library for evolution calen ii libedataserver1.2-11 2.26.3-1+b1 Utility library for evolution data ii libedataserverui1.2-8 2.26.3-1+b1 GUI utility library for evolution ii libgconf2-42.26.2-3 GNOME configuration database syste ii libglade2-01:2.6.4-1 library to load .glade files at ru ii libglib2.0-0 2.20.5-1 The GLib library of C routines ii libgnome-desktop-2-11 2.26.1-1 Utility library for loading .deskt ii libgnome-menu2 2.26.1-2 an implementation of the freedeskt ii libgnome2-02.26.0-1 The GNOME library - runtime files ii libgnomeui-0 2.24.1-1 The GNOME 2 libraries (User Interf ii libgtk2.0-02.16.6-1 The GTK+ graphical user interface ii libgweather1 2.26.2.1-2GWeather shared library ii libical0 0.43-3iCalendar library implementation i ii liborbit2 1:2.14.17-0.1 libraries for ORBit2 - a CORBA ORB ii libpanel-applet2-0 2.26.3-1 library for GNOME Panel applets ii libpango1.0-0 1.24.5-1 Layout and rendering of internatio ii libpolkit-dbus20.9-4 library for accessing PolicyKit vi ii libpolkit2 0.9-4 library for accessing PolicyKit ii librsvg2-2 2.26.0-1 SAX-based renderer library for SVG ii libwnck22 2.26.1-1 Window Navigator Construction Kit ii libx11-6 2:1.2.2-1 X11 client-side library ii libxau61:1.0.4-2 X11 authorisation library ii menu-xdg 0.4 freedesktop.org menu compliant win Versions of packages gnome-panel recommends: ii alacarte 0.12.1-1easy GNOME menu editing tool ii evolution-data-server2.26.3-1+b1 evolution database backend server ii gnome-applets2.26.3-2Various applets for the GNOME pane ii gnome-icon-theme 2.26.0-1GNOME Desktop icon theme ii gnome-session2.26.2-1The GNOME Session Manager ii gvfs 1.2.3-3 userspace virtual filesystem - ser ii policykit-gnome 0.9.2-2 GNOME dialogs for PolicyKit Versions of packages gnome-panel suggests: ii epiphany-browser 2.26.3-2 Intuitive web browser - dummy pack ii evolution 2.26.3-2+b1 groupware suite with mail client a ii gdm2.20.9-1.1+b1 GNOME Display Manager ii gnome-session 2.26.2-1 The GNOME Session Manager ii gnome-system-tools 2.22.2-1 Cross-platform configuration utili ii gnome-terminal

Bug#548280: telepathy-gabble: no longer connects
Package: telepathy-gabble Version: 0.9.0-1 Severity: normal The new version no longer connects to my oldssl server, the server log says: [record] (sipsolutions.net): login fail 213.182.114.190 406 (null) With 0.8.3, it says: [record] (johan...@sipsolutions.net): login ok 213.182.114.190 Empathy When I use TLS, empathy complains Certificate hostname mismatch even though the certificate has the right name. When I disable certificate validation, I again get [record] (sipsolutions.net): login fail 213.182.114.190 406 (null) in the server log. Downgrading just telepathy-gabble to 0.8.3-1 fixes this problem, but I can only connect with oldssl, when using TLS it says network error, which goes away when disabling certificate validation. The certificate is certainly valid for secure.sipsolutions.net but not for sipsolutions.net, but I'm not sure how TLS negotiation is supposed to work in the case where the ID is johan...@sipsolutions.net, but the server name is secure.sipsolutions.net. Nothing like that happens when you download the Ivy package from upstream (and for good reasons!), so I doubt this. In fact projects I've seen using Ivy have different ways of ensuring Ivy is on the classpath. (For instance, Grails projects have an Ant target that downloads Ivy if necessary.) After looking into the issue more closely I think we can make an exception for Ivy in this case. I'm with Patrick for the symlink. Can any of the proponents of this suggestions actually show the requirement (real-life use case)? I am too lazy to plug into ~/.ant/lib or set the classpath does not count. On Fri, 25 Sep 2009 00:20:33 +0200 Sam Geeraerts sam...@elmundolibre.be wrote: ben schreef: Frank Kuester, the maintainer of the Debian texlive-base package, clarified some things in a comment to the Debian bug report (#477060): Sorry, I don't have time to subscribe and really join in. Just two points: No problem. I've CC'd the bug report as I hope you can confirm some items. Apologies in advance if you'd rather we don't in future. - In all systems following the TDS, path does matter, and moving a file from $TEXMF/tex/latex/ams/ to $TEXMF/myengine/latex/ams/ will make it inaccessible for LaTeX in a usual setup. So if we'd have to rename directories there would be a problem. I assume that's not AMS' intention. Renaming files wouldn't be a problem if AMS allows aliases and keeping the package ID. AFAICT, they do in the current wording, but the question is: is that also what they mean? Frank, is this your understanding too? All in all, since Debian has a special exception to allow software that requires renaming of modified files, I don't care much whether the licensor does it properly (like using the LPPL) or naively. I'm not sure I follow this. Does a special exception mean: we kind of think it's not free, but we allow it anyway? Anyway, probably not relevant to gNewSense. I assume this is a DFSG/policy exception (similar to the requirement of all changes being distributed as diffs). TBH, I'd prefer the 'changes as diffs' approach over 'rename on change', but thats just me being a pain. kk -- Karl Goetz, (Kamping_Kaiser / VK5FOSS) Debian contributor / gNewSense Maintainer http://www.kgoetz.id.au No, I won't join your social networking group signature.asc Description: PGP signature

Bug#474146: reduce severity: currently the package does not FTBFS
severity 474146 important thanks I'm lowering the severity to non-RC (but still to important) on the basis of the following rationale. While I agree that it is weird that the bug is now gone (and hence that some build-dep should probably be versioned), as a matter of fact the bug is currently unreproducible and the package does not FTBFS anymore. FTBFS is the main cause for bug like this to be RC, if it is no longer there I don't think the bug should be RC. Given that we routinely rebuild all the archive nowadays, we will be able to spot easily if this bug starts to be reproducible again. Bug#548291: bfilter: Incorrect dependencies in init.d LSB header
Package: bfilter Version: 1.0.6-1 Severity: important Tags: patch User: initscripts-ng-de...@lists.alioth.debian.org Usertags: incorrect-dependency With dependency based boot sequencing, I discovered what I believe is a bug in the init.d scripts of this package. The script uses files in /usr/, and should depend on $remote_fs. The script used to start after syslog, and should probably depend on $syslog. Further, with a hard dependency on networking instead of $network, the package fail to install when the netbase package isn't installed. The latter was discovered by piuparts. See URL: http://piuparts.debian.org/sid/fail/bfilter_1.1.4+svn20090620-1.log for the test log. URL: http://refspecs.freestandards.org/LSB_2.1.0/LSB-generic/LSB-generic/initscrcomconv.html documents the LSB header format. Some debian notes are available from URL: http://wiki.debian.org/LSBInitScripts . This patch should solve the issue. Without it, the package fail to install when netbase isn't installed, and might start a bit too early during boot. diff -ru bfilter-1.1.4+svn20090620/debian/bfilter.init.d bfilter-1.1.4+svn20090620-pere/debian/bfilter.init.d --- bfilter-1.1.4+svn20090620/debian/bfilter.init.d 2009-09-25 11:02:18.0 +0200 +++ bfilter-1.1.4+svn20090620-pere/debian/bfilter.init.d2009-09-25 11:03:49.0 +0200 @@ -1,8 +1,8 @@ #! /bin/sh ### BEGIN INIT INFO # Provides: bfilter -# Required-Start:networking -# Required-Stop: networking +# Required-Start:$network $remote_fs $syslog +# Required-Stop: $network $remote_fs $syslog # Default-Start: 2 3 4 5 # Default-Stop: 0 1 6 # Short-Description: Start the bfilter web proxy. Subject: linux-image-2.6.30-2-686: 2.6.30 cannot find root file system Package: linux-image-2.6.30-2-686 Severity: critical Justification: breaks the whole system *** Please type your report below this line *** When I try to boot with linux-image-2.6.30-1-686 the boot up hangs while trying to find the root file system. It freezes for a few minutes and then drops me into the busybox shell. I have tried changing the root parameter in grub's menu.lst from /dev/hda1 (this is the working setting, up to and including 2.6.26) to /dev/sda1 or using the UUID setting. I also try this in the fstab file. The results are always the same. It cannot find the root file system. I don't think this is strictly a 2.6.30 problem because I tried booting with a Sidux live CD (2009-2) which also uses 2.6.30 and the system booted with no problems. Bug#543375: initscripts: last superblock write time in future occurring sometimes
[LaMont Jones] I completely agree on the severity, and would love to hear from the people who convinced me this would work. again. I guess that was me and Scott. :) The idea was to allow the init.d scripts detect when udev would take care of setting the system clock from the hardware clock when the rtc device became available, and make sure the scripts became no-ops in these cases to save 1-2 seconds during boot. I was told that udev would run the udev rule to set the system clock if it was enabled, and thus believed it would be sufficient to look for the existence of /dev/.udev to decode when to disable the init.d scripts. Obviously this assumtion is not quite right. I have asked Marco d'Itri, the udev maintainer, about this and he believed such udev rule would be called during boot even if no kernel module is loaded. Anyway, a workaround if the udev rule only work when rtc is a kernel module, would be a patch like this, to only disable the init.d scripts if rtc is a loaded module and udev is enabled. diff -ur util-linux-2.16.1/debian/hwclock.sh util-linux-2.16.1-pere/debian/hwclock.sh --- util-linux-2.16.1/debian/hwclock.sh 2009-09-25 10:49:27.0 +0200 +++ util-linux-2.16.1-pere/debian/hwclock.sh2009-09-25 10:54:22.0 +0200 @@ -67,7 +67,9 @@ case $1 in start) - if [ -d /dev/.udev ]; then + # No need to set the system clock if udev take care of it. + # This happen when rtc was loaded as a module by udev. + if [ -d /dev/.udev ] grep -qw ^rtc /proc/modules; then return 0 fi It should solve the described problems until we figure out why the udev rule is not called for home built kernels. Bug#548292: coreutils: rm -i silently overridden by -f
Package: coreutils Version: 6.10-3 Severity: normal rm -irf * deletes everything without asking, whereas rm -rfi * will ask for each item. The conflicting options -i and -f are not handled well, and this is a problem for such a dangerous command. At the very least, it must be documented what happens when the conflicting options -i and -f are both given. rm, however, is a special case which needs to be as idiot-proof as feasible. With rm -irf the user clearly wants interaction, as that is the sole purpose of the -i option. The -f option also suppresses other interaction, for example, for write-protected files. The fact that it also suppresses -i interaction is arguably a mis-feature. The fact that -f silently overrides -i is not acceptable in such a dangerous command. I see the following fixes, in order of decreasing desireability: 1) -f no longer suppresses -i interaction 2) -i -f aborts with an error message 3) current behavior documented in the manpage -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers proposed-updates APT policy: (500, 'proposed-updates'), (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.21.3B Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages coreutils depends on: ii libacl1 2.2.45-1 Access control list shared library ii libc6 2.7-10 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libselinux1 2.0.59-1 SELinux shared libraries coreutils recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#548293: pdns-server: Incorrect runlevels and dependencies in init.d LSB header
Package: pdns-server Version: 2.9.20-6 Severity: important Tags: patch User: initscripts-ng-de...@lists.alioth.debian.org Usertags: incorrect-dependency incorrect-runlevels With dependency based boot sequencing, I discovered what I believe is a bug in the init.d scripts of this package. The script uses files in /usr/, and should depend on $remote_fs. The script used to start after syslog, and should probably depend on $syslog. The header do not list runlevel 1, while the update-rc.d arguments specify that the script should stop in runlevel 1. Further, with a hard dependency on networking instead of $network, the package fail to install when the netbase package isn't installed. The latter was discovered by piuparts. See URL: http://piuparts.debian.org/sid/fail/pdns-server_2.9.22-1+b1.log for the test log. It will also fail to stop the service properly when switching to runlevel 1. diff -ur ../pdns-2.9.22/debian/init.d/pdns ../pdns-2.9.22-pere/debian/init.d/pdns --- ../pdns-2.9.22/debian/init.d/pdns 2009-09-25 11:15:42.0 +0200 +++ ../pdns-2.9.22-pere/debian/init.d/pdns 2009-09-25 11:17:44.0 +0200 @@ -1,10 +1,10 @@ #!/bin/sh ### BEGIN INIT INFO # Provides: pdns -# Required-Start:networking -# Required-Stop: networking +# Required-Start:$network $remote_fs $syslog +# Required-Stop: $network $remote_fs $syslog # Default-Start: 2 3 4 5 -# Default-Stop: 0 6 +# Default-Stop: 0 1 6 # Short-Description: PDNS is a versatile high performance authoritative nameserver. ### END INIT INFO diff -ur ../pdns-2.9.22/debian/pdns-server.postinst ../pdns-2.9.22-pere/debian/pdns-server.postinst --- ../pdns-2.9.22/debian/pdns-server.postinst 2009-09-25 11:15:42.0 +0200 +++ ../pdns-2.9.22-pere/debian/pdns-server.postinst 2009-09-25 11:22:29.0 +0200 @@ -113,6 +113,13 @@ ;; esac +# Recover from incorrect init.d script headers in version 2.9.22-1 and earlier +if [ $1 = configure ] dpkg --compare-versions $2 le 2.9.22-1 \ +[ -f /etc/rc0.d/K[0-9][0-9]pdns ] \ +! Bug#484074: Grub manual in source, but not in any of the binaries?
I too find it next to impossible to use grub2 for anything even slightly non standard for lack of documentation in the binary debian packages. But there is a manual under docs/ in the source package which has been at least partially rewritten for grub 2. As far as I can see, this manual is not included in any of the binary packages. Surely grub2-documenation or some such should exist containing this manual? Then grub2 might become useable? Ah, at 13:03 it's done. is more efficient, is there an expectation that the permissions may have become wrong somehow during the months mailman was running? If so, isn't a cron job to take care of this more appropriate? If not, why do this upon a simple upgrade from 1:2.1.11-2 - 1:2.1.11-11 ? Thanks for reporting this. The find is indeed superfluous, if something has changed the permissions meanwhile than that should be fixed, but I'm not aware of any such processes. Fixing it upon upgrade is quite arbitrary. The problem is that current mailman packaging is full of legacy that accumulated over many years. This find has been in there since the beginning of our SVN history. We're removing such legacy bit by bit and have been making significant progress since sarge. However, there's still more to do and this kind of bug reports really helps to highlight items that can be done better. I;m just happy that apache was not also upgraded at the same time, as it probably would have been stopped during this whole time. That would have sucked. It would - but I wonder if it's actually necessary at all for Apache to be down during an upgrade of unrelated packages. Will investigate. cheers, Thijs signature.asc Description: This is a digitally signed message part.

If possible, please rename the installed /usr/bin/ command to xephyr See e.g. xbiff(1) xcalc(1) xclock(1) that have x in front and use lowercase letters, althought they are X-window related. Similarly all the graphical modern commands like konqueror(1) and gnome-*(1) commands are all in lowercase. Well, the Xserver itself is called Xorg (and there's a X wrapper). Bug#548304: libcommon-collections3 should not be installed by tomcat5.5 by default (it should not be a depend)
Package: tomcat5.5 Version: 5.5.26-5 Severity: important Hi, We had a issue because /usr/share/tomcat5.5/common/lib/commons-collections3.jar was installed, and our app developped in its origin in a tomcat /opt installation, incluyed another commons-collections3 version. So in a webservice we was making a post request from another server and commons-collections3 introduced incompatibilities with the other version. Specifically our post request from localhost was: POST /.../.../.. HTTP/1.1 Content-Type: x-application/hessian User-Agent: Java/1.6.0_12 Host: :8080 Accept: text/html, image/gif, image/jpeg, *; q=.2, */*; q=.2 Connection: keep-alive Transfer-Encoding: chunked 24e POSTDATA HTTP/1.1 200 OK When I tried from the other server was: POST /.../.../.. HTTP/1.1 Content-Type: x-application/hessian User-Agent: Java/1.6.0_12 Host: :8080 Accept: text/html, image/gif, image/jpeg, *; q=.2, */*; q=.2 Connection: keep-alive Transfer-Encoding: chunked 24e POSTDATA 0 HTTP/1.1 200 OK The '0' was the cause of malfunction of our app. Removing /usr/share/tomcat5.5/common/lib/commons-collections3.jar and our app worked with its own commons-collections3.jar. I think about using in both extremes the same commons-collections3.jar, would be a good workarround, but it is not the case. The issue is, if tomcat5.5 tarball not include commons-collections3, why debian package should provide it ? I would recommend downgrading from depend to recommend. What do you think ? Do you know any workarround without having to remove this file ? I guess I can configure tomcat to search in other directory before than the default. Surely grub2-documenation or some such should exist containing this manual? Then grub2 might become useable? Meanwhile, I guess people have to get the source and run tex2dvi on grub.texi With the next upstream release it'll be included. OK, now I've verified. This patch makes a difference in vanilla Qt nethack, but the debian modifications makes it unnecessary. For the record, I don't like that no matter what name I give my character, it will always get my login user name when reloaded, and that a saved game is always automatically reloaded. I much prefer this patch, that gives you the choice to start any of a number of saved games, by just clicking a button, or create yet another character. Bug#535691: Bug #535691,RFH: munin -- help packaging 1.3 to experimental and report bugs upstream
Hi, OK, I cleaned up /branches/debian/experimental (I tagged the previous contents of this dir under /branches/debian/experimental/tags/1.3.3-1). I created the following structure under /branches/debian/experimental/: tags/ trunk/debian/ tarballs/ Following Stig's recommendation, I've used version 1.4.0-dev+svn2484 as the version name. I hope that's ok. Merged the latest trunk/debian from branches/debian/squeeze/trunk/debian, and added the following changes to at least make a rudimentary package: * debian/rule - make target names have changed. * Added suggests to ruby for munin-node. * Added depends to liblog-log4perl-perl for munin. * Updated new manpages names for munin-node.manpages. In upstream trunk: * Slightly modified upstream Makefile to honor overriding Makefile.config, as it does in 1.2.6, but didn't do in trunk. * Solved some lintian problem upstream (minor pod formatting issues which raised lintian warnings). This takes care of the changes need to build the packages, the resulting packages are almost lintian clean, the following warnings/errors remain for the munin package: W: munin: binary-without-manpage usr/bin/munin-check E: munin: dir-or-file-in-var-www var/www/munin/ E: munin: dir-or-file-in-var-www var/www/munin/.htaccess E: munin: dir-or-file-in-var-www var/www/munin/favicon.ico W: munin: executable-not-elf-or-script ./usr/share/munin/VeraMono.ttf The 2 warnings are easy to fix, however the dir-or-file-in-var-www is a bit more complicated, as 1.2.6 uses it too. I guess for experimental we can do the right thing which is to place the www section under /usr/share/munin/www and add an apache alias to point there. But I'm not sure how well this will behave in upgrades from 1.2.6. munin-node and munin-plugins extra are currently lintian clean. Open issues: * Currently the series file is empty, so no patches from 1.2.6 line are applied. There's still work to do, going over the patches one by one, checking if they have been merged upstream, if not, check if it's possible to merge them upstream, and if that's still not an option, apply them. * Lintian error: dir-or-file-in-var-www. * munin-update, munin-limits, munin-graph munin-html all fail to run because of minor perl syntax errors. Still need to check if this is a problem upstream or because of the packaging. munin-node works fine at this point. Please let me know if I should be doing anything differently, any help, advice, comments would be appreciated :) Regards, Tom Feiner signature.asc Description: OpenPGP digital signature

Bug#535758: gok: Doesn't do anything.
Guus Sliepen wrote: Package: gok Version: 2.26.0-1 Severity: grave Justification: renders package unusable I have a tablet PC, which is to say a PC fit inside an LCD screen with a touch sensitive layer. I have a default GNOME desktop, and I apt-get installed gok. When starting it for the first time, it asks me whether I want sticky keys and that I should log out and log in again. Afterwards, I start gok again, and I only see a panel in the lower left corner with nine buttons (Compose, Window, Mouse, Launcher, Activate, GOK, Menus, Toolbars and UI Grab). None of these buttons seem to do anything. There is also no onscreen keyboard to be seen. Unless I'm missing something, I think this software is completely broken. Other packages like matchbox-keyboard or cellwriter work fine. I've just reproduced this with 2.26 and 2.28 while testing if the 2.28 update was fine. The reason (pointed out by Mario Lang) was that at-spi-registryd wasn't running (it should be if you have a11y enabled). Is it running for you when hitting this bug? If you launch it (I did it by going to gnome-at-properties and disabling and enabling Enable a11y technology), does it work? The buttons should then work, and the keyboard itself is in compose. Bug#548306: batmand: Incorrect runlevels and dependencies in init.d LSB header
Package: batmand Version: 0.2-1 Severity: serious Tags: patch User: initscripts-ng-de...@lists.alioth.debian.org Usertags: incorrect-dependency incorrect-runlevels User: debian...@lists.debian.org Usertags: piuparts With dependency based boot sequencing, I discovered what I believe is a bug in the init.d scripts of this package. The package uses files in /usr/ but do not depend on $remote_fs. The runlevel settings when using legacu boot ordering do not match the init.d script header. The package fail to install if the netbase is not installed, yet the netbase package is not a package dependency. To avoid this it is better to depend on $network. Last, the script used to start after syslog in runels 2-5, but do not depend on $syslog. The installation problem was discovered by piuparts, see URL: http://piuparts.debian.org/sid/fail/batmand_0.3.2-2.log for the test log. These are the error messages: update-rc.d: warning: batmand start runlevel arguments (2 3 4 5) do not match LSB Default-Start values (S) update-rc.d: warning: batmand stop runlevel arguments (0 1 6) do not match LSB Default-Stop values (0 6) insserv: Service networking has to be enabled to start service batmand insserv: Service ifupdown has to be enabled to start service batmand insserv: exiting now! URL: http://refspecs.freestandards.org/LSB_2.1.0/LSB-generic/LSB-generic/initscrcomconv.html documents the LSB header format. Some debian notes are available from URL: http://wiki.debian.org/LSBInitScripts . This patch should solve the issue. Without it, the package fail to install when netbase isn't installed, and will start a bit too early during boot. As the stop action in the init.d scrtip is just to kill the daemon, the stop links in runlevels 0 and 6 can be dropped as sendsigs will kill the daemon more efficiently. The postinst fragment is to detect installations with the old runlevels, and remove the symlinks to let debhelper insert the correct runlevels, and the rules change is to make sure legacy ordering uses the same runlevels as the dependency based boot ordering. diff -N -ur ../batmand-0.3.2/debian/batmand.init ../batmand-0.3.2-pere/debian/batmand.init --- ../batmand-0.3.2/debian/batmand.init2009-09-25 13:16:19.0 +0200 +++ ../batmand-0.3.2-pere/debian/batmand.init 2009-09-25 13:22:09.0 +0200 @@ -1,10 +1,10 @@ #! /bin/sh ### BEGIN INIT INFO # Provides: batmand -# Required-Start:networking ifupdown $local_fs -# Required-Stop: $local_fs -# Default-Start: S -# Default-Stop: 0 6 +# Required-Start:$network $remote_fs $syslog +# Required-Stop: $network $remote_fs $syslog +# Default-Start: 2 3 4 5 +# Default-Stop: 1 # Short-Description: /etc/init.d/batmand: start batmand ### END INIT INFO diff -N -ur ../batmand-0.3.2/debian/batmand.postinst ../batmand-0.3.2-pere/debian/batmand.postinst --- ../batmand-0.3.2/debian/batmand.postinst1970-01-01 01:00:00.0 +0100 +++ ../batmand-0.3.2-pere/debian/batmand.postinst 2009-09-25 13:26:22.0 +0200 @@ -0,0 +1,12 @@ +#!/bin/sh + +set -e + +# Recover from incorrect init.d script headers in version 0.3.2-2 and earlier +if [ $1 = configure ] dpkg --compare-versions $2 le 0.3.2-2 \ +[ -f /etc/rcS.d/S[0-9][0-9]batmand ] \ +! However, sensible-browser is not meant to be invoked from the command line; it's meant to be spawned by other programs that are not sophisticated enough to perform the logic themselves. I'm aware of that. The situation that prompted me to file this bug was mutt invoking sensible-browser (as defined in the mime type system) and failing. In the event that this is an X program, your proposed change introduces the possibility of executing a text browser without a terminal emulator. Will all candidate browsers fail appropriately in that scenario? Hmm, maybe not. But maybe sensible-browser could check this by calling /usr/bin/tty ? tty's return value is 0 if stdin is a valid tty, and 1 if not. Bug#511736: vlc: Missing support for V4L2_PIX_FMT_SGBRG8

IMO, it's tool early for experimental becasue it's not stable mainly due to a lot of change in the video output core and modules. A good compromise will be for me to fix the debian packages of http://nightlies.videolan.org which are broken as i haven't look at them in a long time -- Xtophe -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#502879: azureus: has problems decoding file names in some torrents
Well, that's not my area of expertise, but in a general fashion, the decoding of japanese characters is working since one of the japanese examples worked well. I'll forward your comment upstream, but I think there's something wrong with the torrent itself, failing to set the required metadata for clients to interpret that they should be using UTF8 for decoding the filename. Do you have experience with another BitTorrent client which is able to display that particular filename properly? Thanks for your feedback. I have manually backported it, and added some variable that was missing from it; that said, the changes are already integrated and should be uploaded soon (4.2.0.8-2). A short test of that version shows the first problem indeed fixed, but the second is not (where Japanese characters are decoded into question marks, that still happens with the second non-working example torrent). Bug#548309: dropbear: allow more than one public key in initramfs
Package: dropbear Version: 0.52-2 Severity: wishlist Hi! When dropbear is used for remote unlocking of an encrypted partition, it currently unconditionnaly overwrite `/root/.ssh/authorized_keys` in the initrd with `/etc/initramfs-tools/root/.ssh/id_rsa.pub`. Unfortunately, this prevents to add any other public keys that would allow access to the initrd environment. Is there any security reasons being this design? Otherwise, it would be nice to support an `/etc/initramfs-tools/root/.ssh/authorized_keys` file in which `/etc/initramfs-tools/root/.ssh/id_rsa.pub` could be copied during the package installation.
