This will be done (assunming no objections).

Cheers,

Dear alioth-lists migration team,

As per the announcement on debian-devel-announce[1] and as part of
the shutdown of the alioth service, the migration of
lists.alioth.debian.org mailing lists to alioth-lists.debian.net is now
underway.

We tried to contact the designated list owner via
debian-l10n-devel-ow...@lists.alioth.debian.org but got either no reply,
or a bounce message. Accordingly, this list will not be migrated to the
new system and will stop working on 14th April.

Information about alternatives to this service which may be more suitable
for the list can be found at
.

In the event that this list should be migrated to the new system,
please first appoint a Debian developer as a list owner, then let us know
by replying to this email, copying in the list.

We would like to request the migration of the
debian-l10n-devel@lists.alioth.debian.org list to
debian-l10n-de...@alioth-lists.debian.net, please.

Please add /me as the initial list owner.

More information about the new service can be found here:

Thanks,
the alioth-lists migration team.

Thanks for your work.

Laura, yes, that makes sense.

If I understand it correctly, to keep the archive we need to migrate to
alioth-lists.debian.net, since alioth won't keep it. Is that correct?

The migration will also be useful to give us some time to update all
the scripts and packages referencing the current list on alioth.

So, I think we could migrate to alioth-lists.debian.net for the short
term and then start using debian-i18n (and tracker, salsa, etc)
gradually when appropriate.

Comments, please?

What about keeping the archive, and using debian-i...@lists.debian.org from now
on?

I think both teams, topics and subscribers of both list quite overlap already...

I don't know how should we proceed in this case, though, and if
owners/maintainers of debian-i18n@ would agree (didn't CC to avoid creating
noise if my proposal is nonsense...)

Hi debian-l10n-devel,

Can anyone tell if any decisions have been made regarding the continuation
of this list?

Well, it's used as Maintainer for some packages and it receives
notifications from some ftpmaster's scripts, so I think that, yes,
something should be done.

However, being now mostly disconnected from Debian l10n activities,
it's very unlikely that I do something (except handing over the list
admin password to another Debian developer).

Hi Christian. Thanks for the reply.

If no one has a better idea, my suggestion is to accept their offer for
the migration of the debian-l10n-devel list to alioth-lists.debian.net.

So I would like to volunteer myself to ask the list migration team to
proceed with the migration, if the list members agree.

I plan to reply to them over the weekend. So, list members, please feel
free to send your comments to the list before that, in the next few
days, please.

Thank you.
