You can pass the init=3 parameter to the kernel at boot time to start in
runlevel 3 which should be console only, with networking.
Now, in debian for some reason I don't undestand, runlevels 2, 3 and 5 have
the same init scripts, so you have to fix that first.

Hi all...
Some time ago, I exited Mozilla (1.3.1, from unstable I think) while it was
maximized. Since then, it always starts up maximized and even newly spawned
windows are shown fullscreen. How do I turn this off again?
I'm running KDE 3.1.1/3.1.2 from unstable and can't find any relevant set
Hi,
My googling hasn't been a success so far. It's tough to find the right
keywords ;-(
Can anybody point me out to a howto or a relevant posting about
aquiring/compiling/installing 2.5.69? Or with the right search terms? ;-)

Dear list,
as I'm unsure whether the problem is opera-specific or
has something to do with my X system, and googling
didn't turn up any helpful results, I hope that you
have experienced similar phenomena or even found a
solution:
Time and again, opera eats my keyboard cursor, i.e.

Manu,
You may wish to try the stock 2.4.18 Debian kernel. mii.o is surely included in
the kernel-image-2.4.18-686 package.

Hi,
I have read the docs in /usr/share/doc/cvs/ as well as the
CVS HOWTO. I have tried it, and it basically works: both
locally or using /etc/passwd authentication.
Unfortunately, I could not find any clues about how to set
a CVS server for users without accounts by using SSH
public keys.
