(respectively) binary files in MIME (Multipurpose Internet
Mail Extensions) format mail messages. For compatibility
with older forms of transferring binary files, the munpack
program can also decode messages in split-uuencoded format.

Perhaps you can rename it into something like Quickstart from DOS to
GNU/Linux.
Perhaps 2nd there's room for this document on the boot floppy or the
boot CD.

I followed your tips, but installation breaks due to perl. After
upgrading perl manually everything works fine (except the reported
bugs ;-) ).

allows *explicitly* the
distribution with a CD (I read it). It's not allowed to sell a printer
as Postscript-Printer by adding gs to it without the commercial
license. That's the reason for non-free.

NIS tables?? Perhaps you should delete it. Have you set up
nsswitch.conf to use files if nis failes??

deactivate the new nfs and only use the old one. Another thing is the
new CacheFS - perhaps it helps if you deacticate it.

the option -n only listen the files containing foo
dpkg -S foo
listen all Packages that contains a file foo - you hopefully know who is using
the file (and with this command there's no need for the above grep)
