google and then I grepped /proc/cpuinfo for 'lm'.

Und die Logik hinter GIMP-Print leistet auch gewaltiges. A4 lässt sich
noch von ca. 350 x 500 mit GIMP drucken.

Ja, das Original wird nicht angerührt, ausser umbenannt, betextet
(Exif-Comment), oder wegen Unbrauchbarkeit gelöscht.

. Deshalb sollte ein raw zuerst in ein verlustfreies Format mit
ebenfalls 16 bit umgewandelt und in diesem Format weitergearbeitet
werden. Wegen der Flexibilität (kann z.B. auch CMYK) ist hier tif die
erste Wahl. GIMP kann man derzeit sowohl für CMYK als auch für 16 Bit
vergessen.

und vergleiche den Output.
Die Datei mit dem c ist mit convert gedreht, die Datei mit dem e
mit exiftran. Bei 400%-Vergrößerung ist in gimp keinerlei Unterschied
feststellbar
So schnell wirst Du mit dem menschlichen Auge keinen Unterschied sehen.

Na ja. Bei 400% kann man schon einzelne Pixelgruppen erkennen, ebenso
wie man dann mit Sicherheit Artefakte und Treppenstufen
vergrößer', verkleiner' oder sonstwie bearbeite!?
Siehe oben - kommt drauf an.
Einfach ausprobieren und mit exiftool anschauen.

wie zu Pfingsten
in Kitzbühel zufällig erlebt, das Notebook 400 km weit weg ist, ich
eigentlich was anderes fotografieren wollte, und nur zwei Chips mit
hatte. Deshalb hab ich mir vorgestern 1 GB zugelegt - sind jetzt eh günstig.
