¿llevará a algún sitio?

(yo la he cambiado) 3.
Luis Augusto Coutinho Sauerbronn wrote: Saudacoes! [Van Buggenhaut Eric] Debian ships with 2500 packages, i think potato for i386 systems currently has 3937 packages in main (completely free, goes on all CDs), 123 in contrib (free but depends on non-free stuff), 317 in non-free, 62 in non-US/main, none in non-US/contrib, and 23 in non-US/non-free. That's a total of 4462 packages. -- Colin Watson [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I also find that sometimes my PCMCIA card isn't detected @ startup (and therefore no indication of network connectivity on card). I find that taking out the card reinserting it after you've logged in usually fixes the problem I'm sure there's a better way but this works for me. I didn't think PCMCIA was supposed to be hot-insertable? Huh? That's PCMCIA's main claim to fame. Yes, you can unplug PCMCIA cards and plug them back in while the system is running. In fact, on my 600E there is an audible signal indicating when this happens. If I plug my ethernet card in I hear two high beeps if the card is recognized. If the card isn't recognized I hear a high beep then a low beep. And when I remove a card I hear a single high beep. This is all covered in the man page for cardmgr. It certainly sounds like your card is not being recognized. Check the files in /var/state/pcmcia. Gary

John Foster [EMAIL PROTECTED] writes: I need a driver or info as to new kernels that allow for mounting, reading and writing to a Windows2000 file server from Debian Linux. Any Ideas?? Are you talking about accessing files on a remote server or a disk in a local dual boot machine? For the former you'll want to look at SAMBA. There's a SAMBA HOWTO on the linux docs web sites. If you're trying to access a Win2k partition on a dual boot system then read on. I don't know anything about the file system in Win2000. Is it just NTFS? If so you can certainly read it by compiling NTFS read support into the kernel, or as a kernel module. Last I heard write support wasn't stable and would occasionally trash NTFS partitions, but it's in the experimental section of the kernel compilation. Gary

The user should NOT be prompted for a password (this is easy, using .rhost). The problem I'm facing is that on the remote machine I don't have my original environment but that of the remote user.
