The problem if you add the documentation in python-scoop seems to me problematic when python3-scoop will come. It is best to my opinion especially for the python pacakging to put the documentation nto a dedicated package which can be recommended by python2 and python3. I do not think that this -doc package would be rejected by ftp-master. There argument is understandable when you have only one binary pacakge. But here we can intall python2 and/or python3 version but in both cases you want the documentation. O.k. I can set this up already. * changelog: restored 'initial release' and added info on previous package is there common binary packages between this old scoop package and the new one ? scoop-doc would be. But I would be tending to python-scoop-doc anyway. By-the-way: what's your opinion for the dep of the docs package on the main package, Suggests or Recommends? Restored. * added no-adsense.patch could you discuss with the upstream to remove these privacy breach things. If they really want them, it should be nice to have a setup.py flag which allow to get rid of these google analytic links, instead of carrying a dedicated patch all the time. Yes, that's pretty ugly. I'm going to mention/forward this to upstream. You removed the local-options (are you using gbp-buildpackage to build scoop ?) Yes. What's this for, useful to keep? So I will consiede the pacakge ready for upload once Great. Much thanks in advance. 1) you regenerate the -doc package (this will simplify thinks when python3 pacakge will be possible) 2) re-add the ssh-client dependency (cheap) 3) add the autopkgtest part (will simplify a lot the maintenance of the package, so important for me) I've commited the changes right now. Maybe python3-uca would be a better name for the binary package. I've seen that there is a support for Python2.7 on its way. There are two open issues think could be an issue for the RFS, 1) the Python modules aren't private yet, but that would need some hacking on (what builds) /usr/bin/hovercraft 2) there is the Python logo included in the tests (2 times), problematic for DFSG. Bug#783015: ITP: easea -- EAsy specification of evolutionary algorithms
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Owner: Daniel Stender deb...@danielstender.com * Package name: easea Version : 1.0.3 Upstream Author : Pierre Collet pierre.col...@lsiit.u-strasbg.fr * URL : http://easea.unistra.fr/easea/index.php * License : AGPL-3.0 Programming Lang: C++ Description : EAsy specification of evolutionary algorithms EASEA (pronounced easy) is an artificial evolution platform that allows scientists with only basic skills in computer science to implement evolutionary algorithms (EA) and to exploit the massive parallelism of many-core architectures in order to optimize virtually any real-world problems (continous, discrete, combinatorial, mixed and more (with Genetic Programming)). EASEA provides an own high-level language for the specification of EAs. Many elements for EAs are already pre defined. It features a compiler to generate C++ object files from its .ez-files. Bug#783843: ITP: geneva -- high performance parallel optimization library
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Owner: Daniel Stender deb...@danielstender.com * Package name: geneva Version : 1.6.1 Upstream Author : Rüdiger Berlich cont...@gemfony.eu * URL : https://launchpad.net/geneva/ * License : AGPL-3.0 Programming Lang: C++ Description : high performance parallel optimization library Geneva (Grid-ENabled EVolutionary Algorithms) is a optimization library of parallel processing on multi-processor machines up to clusters and grids. In features several optimizations algorithms like evolutionary algorithms (EA) and swarm optimization. Unlike other C++ EA libraries this is under active development, 1.6.1 published very recently this month. Like the other packaging project I have in this field, I want to set this under the Debian Science umbrella, and this also would belong under the Numerical computation task. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-wnpp-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#782436: ITP: pyomo -- Python Optimization Modeling Objects
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Owner: Daniel Stender deb...@danielstender.com * Package name: pyomo Version : 4.0.9682 Upstream Author : William E. Hart * URL : http://pyomo.org * License : BSD Programming Lang: Python Description : Python Optimization Modeling Objects Pyomo is a tool for writing and analyzing optimization models. It could be compared to algebraic modeling languages (AML) [1], but has the advantage of having its objects within the Python environment. A example of finding optimal daily fantasy leagues is on the net here [2]. Pyomo features public modules, but these are for writing the models [3]. So it would belong to the PAPT. A prerequisite for a Pyomo package is PyUtilib. Bug#781765: ITP: graph-tool -- Python library for network (graph) analysis
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Owner: Daniel Stender deb...@danielstender.com * Package name: graph-tool Version : 2.2.38 Upstream Author : Tiago P. Peixoto * URL : http://graph-tool.skewed.de/ * License : GPL-3 Programming Lang: Python, C++ Description : Python library for network (graph) analysis Graph-tool is an efficient Python module for manipulation and statistical analysis of graphs (a.k.a. networks). Contrary to most other python modules with similar functionality, the core data structures and algorithms are implemented in C++, making extensive use of template metaprogramming, based heavily on the Boost Graph Library. This confers it a level of performance that is comparable (both in memory usage and computation time) to that of a pure C/C++ library. I'm in contact with Tiago. Bug#781765: RFP: python-graph-tool
I've checked through the upstream and found that is more complicated than I thought (no implications), and I don't have enough time now to bring this into Debian. If interested, the developer should be contacted because the already created an unofficial Debian package [1]. Bug#788222: ITP: vulture -- scanner for unused Python code
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Owner: Daniel Stender deb...@danielstender.com * Package name: vulture Version : 0.6 Upstream Author : Jendrik Seipp jendrikse...@web.de * URL : https://bitbucket.org/jendrikseipp/vulture * License : GPL-3.0 Programming Lang: Python Description : finds unused classes, functions and variables Vulture finds unused classes, functions and variables in your code. This helps you cleanup and find errors in your programs. If you run it on both your library and test suite you can find untested code. Due to Python's dynamic nature it is impossible to find all dead code for a static code analyzer like vulture, because it ignores scopes and scans only token names. Additionally, some dynamic items that are not explicitly called in the code may be incorrectly reported as dead code. Vulture could be employed by Prospector [1]. Though optional, this would make a nice wrap of this packaging approach. It's a CLI tool and therefore would belong to PAPT. A RFP has been filed for another vulture in 2012 [2], but this bug doesn't look very active.
