 Hi,

Are you working on the package or are going to make it in the nearest future?
If no, please rename ITP bug to RFP (Request for Package) or just answer here.
If yes, would you need a co-maintainer? I am interested in this package now...

Hi Boris,

I was collecting interesting software for future packaging project but I must
admit that I am way beyond because I had some serious trouble last year.

If you would be interested to take over the ITP for YAGF completely and going to
work on it right now please be my guest, no problem!

In fact, just grabbing the package in Ubuntu and recompiling it in Debian

Also, the packaging that is in Ubuntu is very good, and was last touched by
highly competent people (some of them included here in CC).

I can lend a hand on this package if it is put on collab-maint, but I am

So, would there be any chance of having scantailor in Debian? It is *SO*

Hi guys,

if someone actually follows this ITP, I've contacted Sebastian Rahtz who is the

would be very glad if

see the TEI stuff being
available from the official repositories.

So if someone would be interested to sponsor that stuff he of course could
contact me before I'm
going to pack it and post the RFS then.

Didjvu is a tool for encoding document scans into the DjVu image format and

very powerful dealing
even with critical orginals, thus rotten old documents etc. Furthermore, didjvu
is up to now the
only Open source solution for handling colour scans that way. The foreground
layer made with Gamera
is ideal for further processing like creating an OCR layer.

I've read about Squirrel in the German Linux-Magazin no. 10 and I would like to

I think that this patch should be reverted.
The problem if you add the documentation in python-scoop seems to me
problematic when python3-scoop will come.
It is best to my opinion especially for the python pacakging to put the
documentation nto a dedicated package which can be recommended by python2 and
python3.
I do not think that this -doc package would be rejected by ftp-master. There
argument is understandable when you have only one binary pacakge.
But here we can intall python2 and/or python3 version but in both cases you
want the documentation.

O.k. I can set this up already.

* changelog: restored 'initial release' and added info on previous package

is there common binary packages between this old scoop package and the new
one ?

scoop-doc would be. But I would be tending to python-scoop-doc anyway.

By-the-way: what's your opinion for the dep of the docs package on the
main package, Suggests or Recommends?

nice to have a test suite. You can look at the debci and autopkgtest
infrastructure to implement also the integration continuous integration for
scoop.

All right. This is coming up.

why did you removed the virtual package ssh-client ?

I've tried it and it points to openssh-client, but o.k. that could be
different on other systems ... Restored.

* added no-adsense.patch
could you discuss with the upstream to remove these privacy breach things.
If they really want them, it should be nice to have a setup.py flag which
allow to get rid of these google analytic links, instead of carrying a
dedicated patch all the time.

Yes, that's pretty ugly. I'm going to mention/forward this to upstream.

You removed the local-options (are you using gbp-buildpackage to build scoop
?)

Yes. What's this for, useful to keep?

So I will consiede the pacakge ready for upload once

Great. Much thanks in advance.

   1) you regenerate the -doc package (this will simplify thinks when
python3 pacakge will be possible)

   2) re-add the ssh-client dependency (cheap)
   3) add the autopkgtest part (will simplify a lot the maintenance of
the package, so important for me)

I've commited the changes right now. I'm going to write again when the
autopkgtest is fixed.

I'll suggest that by occasion.

the sourc epacakge contain already build documentation.
for exemple the

Or better ask the upstream to remove this prebuild documentation.

Added copyright info for doc/_static/sidebar.js.

 what about _static/copybutton.js ?

Can't find anything special on this (among other packages only to be
found in python{2.7,3.2}-doc [1]), so I suggest we just leave it out
(contains no copyright info, whatsoever)

look at here and add the same thing in the copyright file.

All right, here we go with copybutton.js ...

Added _template/globaltoc.html to deb/copyright, contains a copyright

this file is an old copy of a file which is part of python-logutils.
It seems that the license is BSD-3 on the new vesion. but the version of scoop

maybe the upstream should use this package instead of embeding this copy...

Maybe they should use the latest version.

This is a Python implementation of the UCA (Unicode Collation Algorithm) [1,2],
which provides features for the sorting of Unicode alphabets, e.g.
multiple leveling, contraction and expansion.

The module is written for Python 3, and the name of the binary package

This is a Python citation processor [1] for the XML based Citation

from different bibliographical database formats, so far it supports
Json and BibTeX, according to citation styles written in CSL [3].

The latest upstream tarball appeared a couple of days ago, and there is active

Maybe python3-uca would be a better name for the binary package.

I've seen that there is a support for Python2.7 on its way.

The UCA conformance test suite [1], which is shipped with the Github
tarball but doesn't with the one from Pypi, to my view isn't so
important for the Debian package.

1) I've switched over to the newly available upstream tarball flavour
from Github w/o the prebuild docs to tighten repack and cleaning (plus,
fix Lintian complaints), but I see it's problematic to alter the orig
tarball.

I've restored the repackaging for now to keep this package in the line
with what's already in.

The tarball flavour for the Debian package should be changed then with
the next release ...

 BTW could you perhaps include

from upstream GIT to fix an exr issue in enblend?

Bug#775016: Your ITP of hovercraft and svg.path

2015-01-29 Thread Daniel Stender
Hi Martin,

I've proceeded some towards a Hovercraft package.

A package of python3-svg.path is ready to get available [1]
but unfortunately Hovercraft also needs a package of
Watchdog for running [2]. The test suite also depends on Manuel [3]
which doesn't exist as a package either (not even WNPP as far as I
can see it).

But I'll svn-inject soon what builds so far ...

I've begun to work on the package but it didn't got further due to the

Bug#775016: ITP: hovercraft -- impress.js presentations by reStructuredText

2015-03-18 Thread Daniel Stender
Hovercraft packaging [1] status report update:

solved issues:

1) python3-watchdog is in NEW

2) modules are private now

deps remaining RFS:

3) svg.path [2]

4) manuel [3] (could be spared when the tests are disabled)

open issues:

5) python-logo-master-v3-TM.png might be non DFSG-compliant [4],
could be spared in the examples but it's also used for the tests:

./hovercraft/tests/test_data/maximal/images/python-logo-master-v3-TM.png
./hovercraft/tests/test_data/images/python-logo-master-v3-TM.png
./docs/examples/images/python-logo-master-v3-TM.png

That could be difficult to patch out ... Take out, leave tests disabled?
Suggestions welcome.

Description : Python code analysis tool

Prospector is a tool to analyse Python code and output information about
errors, potential problems, convention violations and complexity.

It brings together the functionality of other Python analysis tools such
as pylint, pep8 and McCabe complexity. More information and a complete
list of supported tools is available on the documentation site.

The primary aim of Prospector is to be useful 'out of the box'. A common
complaint of other Python analysis tools is that it takes a long time to
filter through which errors are relevant or interesting to your own coding
style. Prospector provides some default profiles, which hopefully will
provide a good starting point and will be useful straight away, and adapts
the output depending on the libraries your project uses.

It would be nice to have this available to help check one's own Python
 code.

2015-02-28 Thread Daniel Stender
The package has been Gitized [1] on Collab-Maint since there is no
git.debian.org/git/python-apps so far (could be transfered easily, then)

There has been some improvements in the meanwhile, mainly on
deb/copyright, please see the commits.

There are two open issues think could be an issue for the RFS,

1) the Python modules aren't private yet, but that would need some
hacking on (what builds) /usr/bin/hovercraft

2) there is the Python logo included in the tests (2 times),
problematic for DFSG. The test are disabled as long as
prerequisites aren't available (builds all right, though),
so that excluding them won't be no problem, but get the tests
to run w/o them also need some (extensive) hacking

Cheers,

2015-02-27 Thread Daniel Stender
The status of Hovercraft has improved,

1) the python3-watchdog package is available, close
to get into Unstable [1]

2) python3-svg.path is available [2], currently RFS [3]

3) python3-manuel is also available [4], currently RFS [5]

and finally,

4) the initial Hovercraft package is at Mentors, I'm going
to post a RFS, soon [6]

Thus, it could be run and build already locally. Hovercraft
builds w/o Manuel with DEB_BUILD_OPTIONS=nocheck, Watchdog
and Svg.path are deps of the binary package.

Graph-tool is an efficient Python module for manipulation and statistical
analysis of graphs (a.k.a. networks). Contrary to most other python modules with
similar functionality, the core data structures and algorithms are implemented

  Version : 0.6
Upstream Author : Jendrik Seipp jendrikse...@web.de
* URL : https://bitbucket.org/jendrikseipp/vulture
* License : GPL-3.0
  Programming Lang: Python
Description : finds unused classes, functions and variables

Vulture finds unused classes, functions and variables in your code. This helps
you cleanup and find errors in your programs. If you run it on both your
library and test suite you can find untested code.
Due to Python's dynamic nature it is impossible to find all dead code for a
static code analyzer like vulture, because it ignores scopes and scans only
token names. Additionally, some dynamic items that are not explicitly called in
the code may be incorrectly reported as dead code.

Vulture could be employed by Prospector [1]. Though optional, this would make a
nice wrap of this packaging approach.

It's a CLI tool and therefore would belong to PAPT. A RFP has been filed for
another vulture in 2012 [2], but this bug doesn't look very active.
