[Bug 986846] [NEW] gsettings-data-convert slows down login and crashes
Public bug reported: I am using Ubuntu 12.04 with LightDM and Unity with just one user. Since some days my login time (LightDM - Unity) ist very slow, takes 30 seconds or so. This was not happening with new users I created for testing. After a bit trial and error I found out that the process gsettings-data- convert which converts old GConf data to GSettings is called every login and takes too much time to exit. I removed /etc/xdg/autostart/gsettings- data-convert.desktop to disable autorun and from now I had a very fast login again. [Bug 986897] Re: missing menu translations
I see this too. I have downloaded this file: http://git.gnome.org/browse/gimp/plain/po-script-fu/hu.po?h=gimp-2-6 and did sudo msgfmt -o /usr/share/locale-langpack/hu/LC_MESSAGES/gimp20-script-fu.mo hu.po This made the missing translations reappear. For some reason newer pot files both in upstream damned-lies[1], both in Ubuntu [2] seem to contain only 61 strings instead of the former ~600. I wonder if it has anything to do with this[3] change in intltool, since most of the strings in gimp-script-fu are coming from scheme files[4]. [Bug 987046] [NEW] shotwell's unity progress bar hangs halfway across
Public bug reported: I love that shotwell supports the Unity progress bar on shotwell's launcher icon. But, when I open shotwell it uses the CPU heavily for several minutes, during which time the progress bar makes it about halfway across, and then stops. The progress bar stops, and fortunately the CPU usage eventually dies down as well. But then the progress bar merely remains there indefinitely. This process repeats every time I start shotwell. It's entirely possible that shotwell's trying to perform some task (related to making NEF's into jpeg thumbnails, for example?) but never finishes for some reason? So I don't know if the issue is with the progress bar specifically, or with some other task that never completes and then is re-started every time I start shotwell. In any case, I have to leave shotwell open all the time as it is difficult to work with during the extended heavy CPU usage that occurs during every startup. ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.04 Package: shotwell 0.12.2-0ubuntu2 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.2.0-23.36-generic 3.2.14 Uname: Linux 3.2.0-23-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.0.1-0ubuntu5 Architecture: amd64 Date: Sun Apr 22 20:01:05 2012 InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Precise Pangolin - Beta amd64 (20120327.1) ProcEnviron: TERM=xterm PATH=(custom, no user) LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: shotwell UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Affects: shotwell (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug precise -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to shotwell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/987046 Title: shotwell's unity progress bar hangs halfway across To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/shotwell/+bug/987046/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 172416] Re: eog determines image type from filename
True, but if you want to view lots of images with a responsive user- interface, feh is more than 10 times faster than shotwell. If you start shotwell from the command-line with a large number of images as arguments, then type Space as fast as you can (or increase your keyboard's default autorepeat rate) to load the next image, shotwell takes about 1/3 second to move to the next image. With feh, it takes about 30 milliseconds. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/172416 Title: eog determines image type from filename To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/eog/+bug/172416/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
