@Carla
Since this is a duplicate of bug 716714 (plus, what you've experienced more
closely resembles what was reported there, anyway), you should post that
information there, and also indicate that bug 716714 affects you by using the
green This bug affects ... link at the top of the page, if you have not done
so already. You may also want to subscribe to that bug. (Also, please note that
Natty will not be in Beta 1 until March 31st; see
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/NattyReleaseSchedule.)

Since you are not subscribed to this bug or that one, perhaps you will
not see this message--therefore, I will also send a private message.

[Bug 744817] [NEW] email in subfolder disappear when clicked upon

2011-03-29 Thread indium
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

I connect to MS Exchange 2003 using the standard Exchange 'plugin' of
evolution. In a 5 levels deep sub-folder in 'Personal Folders', I have
some 40 emails. But each time I click on any but the last email added to
the folder, these emails all disappear from the list. In OUTLOOK they
are still there. Clicking on Send/receive in evolution doesn't refresh
'back' the invisible emails.

Restarting Evolution does not resolve the invisibility: the emails are
GONE according to evolution.

[Bug 744817] Re: email in subfolder disappear when clicked upon

2011-03-29 Thread indium
after two more restarts, I now have the 40 emails back in evolution. The
problem of lost emails (lost in evolution, not on the Exchange server)
was pertinent for about half an hour, several 'send/receive' attempts by
me and after switching folder 'view' several times.

So despite the problem being resolved (now) , there is some refresh
issue.

[Bug 197537] Re: [MASTER] Can't read PDF file with CJK (Chinese/Japanese/Korean) text

2011-03-29 Thread quequotion
Five years have passed and this bug is not fixed. (see duplicate #48708
from 2006)

Attached is a screenshot of the manual for my microwave in evnice.

All the layout and graphical elements are there, but there's no text on
the page.

The package poppler-data solves this issue.

The only question is which package(s) should depend on it.

I vote for a recommendation in language-pack-ja and a dependency in
libpoppler.

[Bug 744823] [NEW] outlook-added calendar items not visible in evolution

2011-03-29 Thread indium
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

Adding calendar appointments in the general Calendar calendar in the
MS Outlook 2003 program adds them to the Exchange 2003 server, but
Evolution does not synchronize them onto my laptop (where I run
Ubuntu+Evolution). In the other it does work: adding appointments in any
calendar using evolution transfers them to the server and I see them in
Outlook.

Appointments generated in Outlook and Evolution are visible via Outlook-
webmail as well.

itself.

[Bug 197537] Re: [MASTER] Can't read PDF file with CJK (Chinese/Japanese/Korean) text

2011-03-29 Thread Nobuto MURATA
Hi quequotion,
in current development release Natty, language-selector installs poppler-data
for Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean locales. Please refer Bug #623825.

From this comment,
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/language-selector/+bug/623825/comments/2
it seems not likely installing poppler-data through dependency in Ubuntu.

In Ubuntu, this ticket is a duplicate of Bug #623825, but this has other tasks.
Instead of marking duplicate, I will mark Fix Released against just Ubuntu
tasks.

[Bug 744228] Re: evolution - Unexpected response from IMAP server: MIME-Version: 1.0

2011-03-29 Thread Teej
Hi Mathieu,
If I click on the offending message, then another, and then back, it doesn't
change anything, it still will not display the message and re-errors. It looks
as if evolution is stuck on downloading the one email, but will not grab any
others since the erroring one is in some kind of download queue.
I only use IMAP, so not sure about IMAP+.
I have since manually went into gmail via the website and sorted through the
emails that were there, so not sure which email is was that caused the error.

[Bug 744880] [NEW] Incorret header formatting

2011-03-29 Thread iFred
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

Description:Ubuntu 10.10
Release:10.10

evolution:
  Installed: 2.30.3-1ubuntu7.3
  Candidate: 2.30.3-1ubuntu7.3
  Version table:
 *** 2.30.3-1ubuntu7.3 0
500 http://de.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick-updates/main i386
Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
 2.30.3-1ubuntu6 0
500 http://de.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick/main i386 Packages

I'm using evolution with an Exchange mailbox (via evolution-mapi). I also use
address book from Exchange server. In most cases I write plain text e-mails.
When I write an e-mail to John Smith john.sm...@matrix.net, I get following
set of headers:

To: john.sm...@matrix.net john.sm...@matrix.net
Subject: test
Reply-To: iFred if...@somecompany.com
From: iFred if...@somecompany.com
Message-ID: ...
Content-Type: ...
Date: Tue, 29 Mar 2011 12:26:20 +0200
Mime-Version: 1.0

Two things here are wrong:
1. In To header email address is used as recipient name, while in address
book and during message editing it is displayed in correct way e.g. John Smith
john.sm...@matrix.net
By the way, if address of John Smith is in server address book and has a
shortcut like josm, this shortcut is used as recipient name.
2. Reply-To header is present, but I left this field empty both in options
and during message editing. As I understand, if I want to receive replies to
the same address from which I write e-mails, Reply-To header should empty or
missing. This is correct way, but people (or e-mail clients) often copy From
header to Reply-To header.

[Bug 740754] Re: Language selection for newly created user confusing

2011-03-29 Thread Gunnar Hjalmarsson
Martin,

That code runs fine without crashing. Thanks! In Maverick it also
suggests language out from LANGUAGE, as expected.

In Natty, though, it suggests language out from LANG even if LANGUAGE is
set in /etc/default/locale. It seems like getenv(LANGUAGE) does not
return anything in Natty, so the additional code does not make a
difference.

Has GDM been changed in some respect that affects at which point
LANGUAGE is populated?

/ Gunnar

2011-03-29 Thread JeanAustinR
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager

I noticed this bug occurs when resuming from idle state, the brightness
is up by at least two levels. It didn't restore the last saved
brightness level. I'm running gnome-power-manager 2.32.0 on an Ubuntu
10.10 system. My notebook is an HP Pavilion dv3t with

00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Mobile 4 Series Chipset

[Bug 739795] Re: Evolution closes on send

2011-03-29 Thread Pedro Villavicencio
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or
challenging to deal with as a .crash file. Please follow these
instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can
be dealt with by the automatic retracer.

If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable
apport in /etc/default/apport and restart.

Now open your file manager, navigate to your /var/crash directory and open the
crash report you wish to submit.
If this fails you will have to open a terminal and file your report with
'ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash' where _my_crash_report.crash is
the crash you would like to report. If you get an error that you aren't allowed
to access this report you will have to file it with 'sudo ubuntu-bug
/var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash'.

I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will
automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more
efficiently. Thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding.

[Bug 744929] [NEW] After auto-login, prompted to unlock keyring multiple times

2011-03-29 Thread Felix Lawrence
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-keyring

I have auto-login set up on my laptop. When the desktop loads, it
prompts me to unlock the keychain. I enter my password, and another
prompt appears, identical to the first. In total, 4 prompts appear each
time I turn on my laptop.

The key thing is this: I only have to enter my password once. If I
enter my correctly password on the first prompt, the keychain is
unlocked and I can press Cancel (or hit escape) on all further prompts
and the laptop works as expected. If I do not enter my password on the
first prompt and hit Cancel on all 4 prompts, then the keychain is not
unlocked and eventually I get prompted again.

So it seems like multiple requests are being made to gnome-keyring when
the keyring is locked, and gnome-keyring puts up a prompt for each of
these requests, rather than waiting to see what happened after the first
prompt was dealt with.

This is seemingly related to the experience of some of the commenters on
bug #637702, but it was suggested in the comments on that bug that new
bugs should be filed with specific details. I would be happy to provide
further information and/or help debug this.

[Bug 708382] Re: [regression] cannot create custom preferred applications

2011-03-29 Thread Alex Murray
This also affects other mail applications like gnome-gmail (bug #729357)

[Bug 741155] Re: gnome-volume-control crashed with SIGABRT in raise()

2011-03-29 Thread Ykcir Reklaw
Hell I don;t know how to bring up all that stuff that you brought up but
I have no volume control in Natty either. When I upgraded Natty the
sound control panel vanished like Hodini into the night and I can't
figure out how to get it back. I even put a sound control shortcut on
my desktop and it won't do anything. Other than that I am not having
troubles with Natty but it crashes every now and then and have to
restart. Heres something for people that use Wine3 of the first 5
apps I downloaded had viruses so I hurried up and removed any traces of
Wine off my system. Using amd64 athlon 11x2 235e nVidia GeForce 6150SE
nForce 420 5.6 gigs mem 744 gigs
