[Bug 761449] [NEW] blank space above desktop when using multiple monitors with different vertical heights
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: metacity Hi, Seems this problem has been there forever and it continues. I have a laptop 1600x900 display coupled to another 1920x1080 desktop display. after setting up a extended desktop in the monitor settings, i noticed there's a blank space my mouse can disappear into when pointing around the 1600x900. Attached is a screenshot that explains it much easily! Proposed solution is: Make mouse pointer snap to top of the shorter display when moving back from a taller one, assuming it would otherwise move into the black zone. Not sure of the package. Since I am not running nvidia proprietary drivers or Gallium, its nouveau + metacity i believe. Although since the problem exists in compiz as well it probably has something to do with X :( Please correct? The problem appears when I try to copy video files, they are all 1gb, from the camera while connected with the USB cable. Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-disk-utility When selecting Check File System on a file system which is is use, you currently get an error stating the device is busy. If a disk was busy, Disk Utility could prompt the user and ask if the file system should be scheduled for a check on the next reboot. I have just found out about the special file /forcefsck (http://www.cyberciti.biz/faq/linux-force-fsck-on-the-next-reboot-or- boot-sequence/) which forces the file system to be checked on the next reboot, and due to this I think this is a potentially simple implementation. Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus When nautilus is not maximized, independent of which directory is opened in nautilus, the title of the window displayed at the global unity menu remains Home Folder, even if I am not in my home directory. [Bug 761180] Re: Instructions for user name are wrong and wording is misleading
Indeed the wording could be improved, but I don't think I'll make another upstream release of the gnome-system-tools now that they are deprecated. And since it's been that way in Ubuntu since Lucid, I'm not sure it's worth patching it for Natty (translations...). But I've opened a bug[1 ] against gnome-control-center, which replaces users-admin in GNOME 3 and uses the same string. About the comma, I don't understand the problem: it's not listed as an allowed character, so it's expected that you can't use it. I'm closing the Ubuntu translations task as that's not a translation bug at all. On the contrary, for example in French, the wording is better than in English and doesn't suffer from this ambiguity. 1: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=647851 ** Bug watch added: GNOME Bug Tracker #647851 https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=647851 ** Changed in: gnome-system-tools (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = Low ** Changed in: gnome-system-tools (Ubuntu) Status: New = Triaged ** Changed in: ubuntu-translations Status: New = Invalid ** Summary changed: - Instructions for user name are wrong and wording is misleading + Instructions for user name are misleading -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-system-tools in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/761180 Title: Instructions for user name are misleading -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
