My current preference would be the gdm3 fix.

That's a debconf note. How did you invoke installation?
All package installation is interactive. If you want non-interactive
package installation one has to pass options to apt to "do not disturb
me" and accept defaults to any questions around installation or
upgrades.
ubuntu-release-upgrader controls the upgrade, and calculates which
things to install/remove.
For us to be able to complete transition off dkms to prebuild modules,
we need to have a way to ask ubuntu-drivers how to do that.
I.e. `ubuntu-drivers list` needs to gain `--package-list` option like it
gtk2 and python2 are obsolete.
... and so is anything that uses them.
virtaal in focal uses gtk3 and python3, and does not depend on python-

How or why did you generate this list?
Ubuntu ships modern, maintained software, that is security
1) ubiquity already does list-oem which can query from ubuntu-drivers-
common if any oem stuff needs to happen
2) ubuntu-drivers-common should provide '--package-list' option on the
regular list command too
3) this way ubiquity can run 'list' with '--package-list' ahead of the
