So, get this crash repeatedly, but not immediately, when I try to
download a 700MB video file from archive.org. It's a webseed. The
LibreOffice site is not responding as I try to check this, but there's a
good chance that torrent has a webseed, too. This crash may be specific
to web seeds.
Renders correctly on Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail.

I had a quick look at the pactl list output and noticed the following
things:
1) You seem to be running the cinnamon desktop. This usually shouldn't
matter; but in this case actually it can. So I'm wondering if this is
also reproducible from a clean Live-CD of, well, saucy/trusty at this

When I log in, the desktop is drawn for a moment, and then the icons
disappear. The wallpaper remains. When I click on the Nautilus icon, the
same thing happens. Loading from a terminal gives me:

When set to wrtie a DVD at 'Maximum Speed' (default) my LG SATA writer
writes at less than 2.0x. If write is set to 8.0x or 16.0x the write
speed is as expeted based
