Actually if you read through my report I finally figured what is the
problem. It is not ubuntu's fault. Xorg upstream simply decided to rip XAA
from Xorg 1.13, and 14.04 has Xorg 1.15 or something like that. So
basically in 12.04 there was no hardware acceleration either unless you

realize what monitor it is currently on, and go full screen on that

I set the mouse orientation to left-handed and it works fine. But
after reboot, mouse reverts to right-handed despite the fact that

It is really 100% reproduceable.
I have tried to remove ppa with ppa-purge utility, and hotkeys starts work in
latin layout, but stops in non-latin (RU) layout.
Then I hev tried to add ppa again, and situation became inverted: latin layout
- no hotkeys, ru layout - working hotkeys.
