This time, the adapter is first recognized as 148f:7601.
and the dmesg output is some different.
Although still can not find any interface by "ifconfig -a", and can not
select wifi in the "Network Manager", it's promosing to let the adapter
work, at least the GMS modem work now.

I am using 17.04 and don't have texlive installed or any fonts in
/usr/local. But still this happened. Needed to use `sudo aa-complain
evince`
And yes, "some font thing failed" is an worst kind of debug info I've
seen.
