Because of the broken dependencies, I could not upgrade any ubuntu packages.
Therefore, I upgraded all packages, including the mesa ones and I installed
kernel 6.5.0-1014-oem. The bug was back (white screen "something went wrong"
before reaching gdm). I removed all i386 mesa related packages
I have the exact same issue as described by original report. Two windows
of the browser on different workspaces, only happens when I use Wayland
session. I collected more data on this:

When using VMWare Horizon and quickly switching windows (alt-tab), the
Horizon app and other apps crashes (such as spotify (snap?) and zoom
(native deb)). I can see a Segmentation Fault error in syslog. I have
tried the last four versions of VMWare
