I can confirm this on xscreensaver 5.21 on Debian unstable with xfce as
well. The problem is that the xscreensaver daemon is told to lock the
screen only after the computer has woken up. Using xscreensaver -debug I

I don't think it is ivy bridge related because my hardware is not ivy bridge.
I'm using older Core2Duo cpu and Geforce 7600GT with older intel chipset. I
forgot what it's called but definitely not sandy or ivy bridge. It is a legacy
time tested hardware that shouldn't have had bugs
Hmm, they should make sense to the bot, but I don't know what tools I
need to use on ubuntu to decode them. As it stands it didn't have the
information I was looking for.
There should be /var/log/lightdm/:0.log (and friends). See if you can
find one that corresponds to the crash upon boot.
