To reproduce: In Firefox, select Tools -- Web Developer -- Inspector
(or Style Editor or Web Console or etc.) I am using Ubuntu 15.04 and
Firefox 34.0 (currently the latest in Vivid's repos).
Only the top ~10% of the inspector panel renders. Refer to the following
image:
I switched to kernel 3.14.1-trusty, and the problem is fixed. Credit

crashed to text only screen, kernel panic

I was working on installing different themes for my desktop and after
uninstalling one of them my sound stopped working. I check the sound
settings and all my output devices disappeared. The icon disappeared
unless i refreshed the toggle on the sound settings menu, but its
Clicking the down arrow right next to the magnifying glass brings up a
small dialog Change Search Settings, but that is cut off. Clicking
change Search Settings brings up the preference search window. It
does seem that the search settings DO WORK.there is no control as
there used to be to
I meant tested and updates. Additonal Drivers . The Additional Drivers page
lists 173.14.39, 304.125,, and 331.113 for a machine with
old card: GeForce 9500GT (14.04 Trusty). A
and for GTX 760 lists 331.113 .
