Sorry I haven't had more time to try and debug this. Just posted on G+
asking for anyone with the same CPU/Motherboard and multiple displays to
help out if possible.
That said, I tried switching crtc on the outputs just now, and I can get
the main screen to switch between the two, but the
Daniel, does having these messages from drm indicate this is likely a
kernel issue rather than an Xorg issue, at this point?

few 3.5 kernel updates recently on Ubuntu 12.10 with several i915 fixes

For 13.04 it appears we can now remove desktopcouch from the archives.
The only package appearing to have binaries depending on it is dmedia,
which should also be dropped, as it's quite old; and upstream maintains
some PPAs which people should be using, to get dmedia/novacut.
It also appears that nothing is using couchdb-glib any longer either, as
evolution-couchdb was removed in Quantal; and couchdb-glib includes
bindings for desktopcouch as well.

Just upgraded to Oneiric, and am trying to use Empathy instead of
Pidgin, however it presents several issues. One is that there is a
plainly visible toolbar area, which contains no items. The toolbar
should probably just be hidden, as there is no need for it.

The control panel doesn't use GTK+ 3.x. It still uses 2.x in that
screenshot. Natalia, can you elaborate on how it's a GTK+ issue instead
of a control-panel one?
