Some features for 1.1.1 -- module/deployment extensions

2006-06-09 Thread Aaron Mulder
FYI, I plan to address http://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/GERONIMO-1873 as soon as possible in 1.1.1. I'd like plugins to be able to define new deployment unit formats (e.g. JBI service assemblies, a Spring deployment unit, a Quartz job as a deployment unit, or a Jasper report as a deployment

Changing a released jar in the repository is a bad idea. There is no real down side to having some old releases with incubator in the name, and we when the project graduated we would just update the poms to their new name. Anyway, as Alan pointed out, it most likely isn't worth the effort

FWIU, having commit access to svn at apache requires you to have an apache account which means you need to be a committer on some apache project. I believe that apache only has the one process to get committ access. Sorry, -dain On Jun 9, 2006, at 11:04 AM, Donald Woods wrote: Can we

If we really need it, I think the syntax 1.1.* would be ok since it would easily be parseable and translated to [1.1-1.2) in a formal version syntax. For the patch, I'm thinking of something like if (version.equals(gerVersion) || (gerVersion.endsWith(.*

Thanks for testing the pre-release! This bug was identified and fixed after the Wednesday build. You can get a build incorporating the fix here: http://people.apache.org/dist/geronimo/unstable/1.1-412854 (though that's an unstable build and I understand another release candidate will be coming

My main objection to that is then there's no way to say 1.1 only. We would have to call 1.1 1.1.0 so that 1.1 and 1.1.* would be different. Or, I suppose, change your patch to gerVersion.length()-1 and encourage 1.1* not 1.1.* Thanks, Aaron On 6/9/06, Dain Sundstrom [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote:
