Maybe you've tried to change something and without confirmation the
system has deactivated your account.

Anyway I've reactivated your account, it should be fine now.

For the record, after some exchanges with OP (everything fine now): he
tried to change his mail but did not check his spam folder, where the
notification landed.
I guess that without any confirmation from the user, the forum system
just deactivated the account.
The problem is that it seems that accounts deactivated are not
searchable by mail address in the database (I found the account by
browsing the inactive users).

I have checked with userlist on en-Forum and can find no registration of any
kind - active or suspended - for that email.

Hi Faye;

What kind of account were you trying to create? We really need to know
exactly what you were trying to do to be able to offer help.

If you were trying to create and account on our Media Wiki (Mwiki) then
I understand why you were blocked. Self registration was stopped on that
a while back as a spam prevention measure. If you want to open an
account there please send your e-mail address and your preferred user
name to the list and my self our one of the other Mwiki admins can open
your account.

If it was another type of account then reply back to the list as to
exactly what account you were trying to create and any error message(s)
that you received and we will look into it.

I have cc'd your e-mail account as a courtesy as you are not subscribed
to the mailing list. Please reply ONLY to the mailing list
(dev@openoffice.apache.org) and not to my personal e-mail.

Regards
Keith N. McKenna

Bugzilla legacy login instructions

2013-02-09 Thread Rob Weir
We currently have this message in Bugzilla:

Please Note: All users with accounts with the legacy OpenOffice.org
issue tracker must reset their passwords to gain access to their old
accounts. To reset your password, click on the Forgot Password link
in the header or footer and enter your user name.

Note: If your user name when the service was hosted at Oracle was
myuser, then your login for the migrated Bugzilla instance will be
the email address associated with myu...@openoffice.org. So not the
openoffice.org address, but the address that the openoffice.org
address was previously forwarded to.

Is this still relevant? How does a password reset work today if the
legacy openoffice.org email forwarder is gone?

At least I can say, that I have no problem accessing my account (but this
might be a new account compared to oracle accounts). I did look at the
notice an wondered.

I think we could remove the message, after this al this time, I am sure the
old users have accessed (or tried to) access their accounts. Meaning at
this point of time, it is either new users, or legacy user that have a new
password.

It is still relevant, but it doesn't need to stay in evidence. Anyway,
it works like this: if j...@openoffice.org used to be an alias for
j...@example.org, the user can regain access by asking a new password
for j...@example.org. This adjustment was done by Infra when the
@openoffice.org aliases were retired and should still work.

But I honestly doubt that this is still useful to someone: I agree this
should be removed or moved to a less prominent position, like on the
password reset page only.

  Andrea.
