Sorry, I missed the point that web sites can only be published if the source files are in Git [1]. If I understand correctly the only thing that the maven-scm-publish-plugin would do is committing the target site to the asf-branch (what we currently need to do manually). So for me 1 & 2 are not

I think "headless" puts us into a specific bucket. You can build anything with Sling, being it headless or not. AEM is definitely not headless :) I think it doesn't make sense for a framework to use that characterisation, otherwise a lot of frameworks are headless (in the sense of not having a UI)

Hi as a first step I moved all releases into a separate "releases" page and removed all of them from the news page. Our news now look a little bit empty... On a related matter, is there any way to surpress the creation of a ToC for a page? The releases page looks a little bit stupid atm :)

Totally agree with what Karl said. One major aspect of the new feature based model is that it describes what a feature is and how features are combined and how the result looks like. Any tooling can then act on this. This will allow us to create Karaf features or an OSGi subsystem or launch it
