Hey all, yeah maybe misunderstanding. I also see it as just a feature request for NetBeans. At the end in an issue or discussion we can talk about what should be better, plugin or implementing into the core. I know the difference between NB and plugin and I wouldn't open plugin issue in NB issue tracker. you clearly referenced a intellij marketplace plugin to make your point, even listing the download stats of it. But there should be several maven/gradle reporting plugins available. any test coverage plugin for example should be able to count lines even though its not the primary objective of it.
