Technology activist isn't really a new term; I've been hearing it for at least a decade. Do a Google search for it and you'll get at least 500 hits. I also searched google groups and found Phil Agre using it in a CPSR newsletter in August 1994. So it's more of an oldie-but-goodie than anything
