When our plans are finalized.

Do you already know in which country it will happen?

Well, I'll be trying to arrange my schedule so I can raise my
hand for emcee duties again at least. So I won't be _completely_
invisible.

If I was submitting, given the success of my "ground up tutorial"
approach this year I'd also straight up ask in the general forums
if there's any topics I should cover. So if I don't do a talk, at
least someone else will have a solid idea for one ;-)

This is something I'd personally prefer in general to be honest. It's a far
better display of an active community if it's not just the same people
presenting every year.

Even if a proposal gets turned down, one can always submit it

(I gave a talk at a meetup just last month.)

A major part of that outcome was the low number of total
proposals. The core contributors and others kind of chipped in
to save the day. We want tons of proposals.

Most definitely, submit a talk. I wouldn't worry about having
"credentials," interesting talks from people who are not regular
speakers are always welcome.

If you submit a talk proposal and it's accepted, then you are
eligible after the conference to have your travel and
accommodation expenses reimbursed. As long as they're
reasonable (e.g. no first-class plane tickets or 5-star hotels,
etc.).

Alright, thank you very much for the information.

Travel + accommodation as I understand it.

But yes that is covered if you do a talk.

Hey! That’s awesome! The conferences are usually around May. And
the announcements and finalization don’t really have a specific
date but usually around Jan/feb ish (just did a quick search for
the different years).
