It may be that your remote isn't sending the code that matches the one

and I am not quite half finished. And yes I bought all my CDs over the
years, I have a whole wall of CDs that I never get to listen to.
Hopefull when I retire I can just put SB on random play till
eternalty.

there are no screws holding the silver plate on, it's just glued on. I
see no reason why screwing anything tighter or looser would affect how
two flat surfaces bond together. Perhaps we are not talking about the
same plate here.

is FF specific. As for jinzora, nice that it supports slim, but other
than potted (and pointless) bio pages for the artists I don't see what
it has over the regular slimserver skins. Browsing doesn't seem any

Doesn't look that bad in my IE on XP Pro. Far from horribly broken.
Some CSS layout issues, maybe, but everything seems to work.
I think an interface similar to this would be wonderful. One thing
about AJAX, though, is that you need a very responsive server.
SlimServer just isn't there yet,

Well it doesn't work at all here, IE6/XP/SP2. I guess it's pretty
fragile - a lot of AJAX apps are in my experience.
As for PHP, the day Slimserver runs on PHP is the day I buy a Roku.

The current situation for the Qnap TS-101 is that we will be getting a
delivery leaving them on the 20th and into us on the 23rd December. We

an API for a presentation layer. Then write the web interface in PHP or

I tried it still just as bad. I need to properly test it with some
different computers to see if it is just my setup (Media center +
Laptop) or a wider problem. I will get back to you.

me, I need to add that to my list of logs to rotate periodically.
Anybody know if the slimserver keeps the log open, or just opens it as
needed? Much easier to rotate out if it only opens when needed.

Hi Folks,
I just got two new SB3s and I set them up last night. They're working
well overall, and are a noticable improvement over my SB1s.
However, I've noticed that anytime I have the SlimServer running, it
appears to be pumping out about 20Kb/sec of SOMETHING, even tho both
SB3s are stopped
I tried the handheld skin for awhile and, while passable, the telcanto solution is much better.

That seems crazy. I can't imagine what's using that much bandwith. You
shouldn't need to check the time server more than once a minute or so.

Is there a reason why a wireless squeezebox2 will get 2 IP addresses?
The SB2 is not connected through a wire. Running arp -a I see the
following for this SB2:
d114..com (192.168.129.114) at 00:04:20:05:A5:A4 [ether] on eth1
d117..com (192.168.129.117) at 00:04:20:05:A5:A4 [ether]
I have two week old SB3s one on the HT and one in my office and both
seem to be coming apart. The silver piece on both SB3 has pulled away
from the base :(...Should I apply some glue or ask for a replacement
and is anyone else experiencing such?

Remember the Squeezebox is dependent on SlimServer for everything on the
display. Time on the boxes changes once a second, and it thus has to
transmit once a second. I'm guessing it has to transmit the entire
display every second, not just the changed parts. 320x32=10240

I don't think that measurement is correct anyway. I have two units, and
they are both running superdatetime. I'm only seeing 2-4k / second
bandwidth.

laptop stolen, and had to rip everything again.
So what i sthe best way to back up music on a Mac? Is there an easy
way to get iTunes to access an external harddrive, or should I just
burn everything to DVDs?
