When you know what to look for, the original remote is the best. But

need to make it simple enough for a 7 year old to use and the most
obvious way is to reduce the amount of music she has to browse to find
what she wants.
My idea was to run a second server on my server pc (if that's possible)
Check Erland's custom plugins; The Custom Browse plugin could filter
on genre, so you just add a kiddo tag to the genre for the albums she
should listen to. But now I believe he just has released a Multi
Library plugin... :)

I'm not sure if this is network trouble - if it was, you'd see a

disconnected message. It seems to imply that the network is fine but

The right half of the SlimServer browser screen is titled SqueezeBox
Music Player however I never noticed the little pulldown menu in the

FAT Gooey is completely separate from my Home Automation system. They
just have a lot of code in common (the main TCP/IP code and command
handling) The program should run on anything that runs VB6. That is
what it is written in. It needs the socket controls from
Windows/System
I have done all that was suggested here, still having the same problem.

One thing to note...Most of the album covers were initially created
within an iTunes app, and the album art resides within each (flac)
album folder as cover.jpeg, not cover.jpg.

That version of QTFU6 is the best one to use. You should try posting on
the Hymn project forum. Someone there will probably be able to help.
Tunebite is basically the same as burning and re-ripping, just faster.
It's sampling an already lossy compression so you lose more audio
quality.

Thanks to Erlands plugins and setup guide she now has a SB with 1 menu
item that lists all the artists she wants. All I have to do to add
something is put her name in the Comments tag of the files they appear
after a rescan.

I am thinking of setting up something similar for other reasons. I am
curious, when you say rescan, do you have to do a full library
rescan, or are you using the rescan for custom tags in the Custom
Scan menu?

iTunes can do sooo much more compared to the web interface and this is
the interface most newcomers to the squeezebox will be used to...
So getting this to work is both of personal interest and, I personally
believe, one of the keys to make the Squeezebox even more succesful (at
bare in mind that 'look for new and changed music' will only pick up
files that have a new modified time stamp, if you tagger doesn't change
the time stamps (this is uaually an option, and a very useful one at
that) then you will need to do a complete clear and re-scan.

I've been using two Squeezebox 2s, synced, for quite a while. Today they
stopped working together. If I choose a radio stream, the display shows
the buffer filling, and then says waiting to sync... If I choose a
local playlist the song title scrolls, but playback doesn't start.
