it took me a bit until i had time to tinker and i have made progress, but do not have it completely worked out yet. i opened up the ports on my router as instructed and i do have access remotely for controlling my squeezebox via my publicip:9000 in my browser. i do have squeezeplay installed

[slim] moving to WHS from XP

I am looking at moving my OS from XP to WHS, is it possible to just 'move' my settings for squeezecenter from XP to WHS or do I have to just go through all the screens re-inputting my settings for display setup etc? -- killie99 Musical Fidelity KW250S, Impulse H2 speakers, SB3, Duet a Boom

I have a SB3, and the Duet (controller plus receiver). The controller and sb server see the SB3, but they do not see the receiver. I've tried power cycling the receiver, and it goes through the lights cycle that complete its connection to the network. In my router's admin panel i can see both

If you are streaming through the internet, I would suggest you to consider setting up connection through ssh rather than just opening the ports on your router. You are running into serious security risks. If people gain access to your squeezeboxserver, they could do a lot of harm. -- Honva
