Thanks for the guidance. I have not noticed that updating to a newer version of SBS is the immediate cause of my losing favorites. I'm running SBS from my iMac. I found the preferences folder location listed under the information tab in the settings portion of the web remote control (under the "advanced" tab) in the sbs server preference plane. In my case the preferences information was listed in : users/"username"/library/application support/squeezebox where "username" is your username. After stopping SBS, I used Time Machine to recover the corresponding folder from an earlier date and replaced the "corrupted" folder. SBS worked immediately with all my favorites and folders restored after restarting. After reading your post, I will make a backup copy and keep it handy. As you indicated, this is not a solution, nor should we be dealing with these issues. Most people think they are buying a simple table radio when they plunk down good money for these devices which are really adjuncts to a computer network. They don't want to deal with servers, IP addresses, WEP codes, nightly builds, continuous and constant software revision updates, etc. Combine that with the constant changing of names of web sites, software (slimserver, squeezebox, squeezeslave, squeezeplayer, softsqueeze, ad infinitum) without even minimal documentation and you are confusing your customers big-time. If it wasn't for these forums, I would be completely lost and although I am somewhat computer-literate, I am not a computer programmer nor do I have access to one. -- michael11694 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ michael11694's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=29759 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=74819 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
