Why don't those players support 256kbps AAC?
I don't remember the details of the file formats, but the higher quality stream
can't be transcoded. One is m4a, while the other is aac.

Hi
just got home after beeing away for a week and switched on my
transporter. only the right display is showing. The left one stays
dark.
Did I mess up something in the settings or do I have a defect ?
I changed some of the settings in the software for the display but no
result :-(

Every 5 minutes, like clockwork but sometimes even more often, the
squeezeboxserver running on my Linux box opens a HTTP connection to
www.myqueezebox.com and performs a GET.
I've turned off all sorts of network syncing options and other features

I have a persistent problem: my SB3 regularly stops (several times per
day), goes blank and then displays the message 'can't connect to
server'. The reconnect (right arrow) command only produces the same
message, so I have to go through the whole (left arrow)'set up
networking' 'obtain IP'etc
But if I bought a Logitech Touch and ran it through my Transporter it
should work fine? And the DAC on my Transporter would still be in use?
If you connect Touch's digital out to Transporter's digital in, you should be
fine.

No but the Touch has it's
One way to tell for certain would be to cold boot it (pull out the
mains). On boot up, both screens are used to show the splash screen
graphics and welcome messages.

The problem is rather technical, but basically the 256k format is not a
streaming format (MPEG-4 AAC), while the 96k one is (ADTS AAC). faad
cannot transcode a streaming MP4 because it needs access to the entire
file.

My understanding is:
1. Linux based players (Radio and Touch) do native decoding of the
256kbit/s stream.
2a. Older ip3k based players don't do native decoding of any AAC format
at any bitrate.
2b. Transcoding for ip3k players is done by the local server using
faad.

files just in case and then search again , it's not lurking in user

Just installed on my iPad and I'm stuck with the yellow box and
Connecting to Squeezebox Server. I can tell it has connected at least
once because it shows all my receivers and devices. But I can't control
anything.

After much trial and error I have been able to get the Ipeng app to
control my Classic via my 1st gen. Itouch. I can access all the music
on my server and I can access radio stations and favorites. The only
wrinkle I haven't been able to figure out is this. When I try to access

But i get some of it, there are not many streaming services at all
available in the nordic countries, so

Here's my set up. I'm running Squeezebox server 7.5.1 r30836 on a
mac.
In my living room I have a Squeezebox Duet.
In my bedroom I have a Squeezebox Radio.
For the longest time I've been enjoying listing to Radio Paradise on
the Duet. And then about 6 months ago it simply stopped working.
