@gharris999: If you are prepared to put up with the hassle of no player control at all, then even Safari will do stream.mp3. A modicum of user interface would be nice, though! I have got ZumoCast installed, so I can use that to stream music files. Not quite SBS, but better than stream.mp3.

If it were easy I would have done it a long time ago. I can't borrow from SoftSqueeze since that would be a violation of the SoftSqueeze license, it's GPL which unfortunately is not compatible with the App Store agreement (and a lot of other business models; GPL is not a license, it's a dogma).

The GPL would allow you to distribute a playback slave for free. You may not think that this is worth your while. On the other hand, such a UI-less slave is pointless without something like iPeng. And to the extent that it is pointless, the free (GPL) app then becomes a marketing tool

You'll never get intuitive on the iPad as long as you use the original SBS menu structure. You may get stuff people had to learn before... Squeemote is simple and intuitive (apart from that strange sync screen), probably Squeezey, too. They sacrifice functionality for simplicity and it works.

The list of albums is complete, only two of them show cover artwork. Mini is running latest Snow Leopard OSX. SS do not scan anything at the moment, all is up to date. I have now flushed the cache and iPeng loading again. Not sure, propably I interrupted it the first time. Will report back. --

When I open an album it still doesn't show the cover artwork. Artwork is shown only in the currently playing box in the left bottom corner only if a track starts playing. The artwork on the right in the album view still shows the grey note placeholder. The SS 7.5.2 is from Wed Sep 29 02:00:53

My guess is that you are using iTunes, right? iTunes artwork will not show up unless you copy the artwork, delete downloaded artwork, then paste it back, which will embed the artwork into the file itself so that it shows up on your Squeezebox. -- WilCox
