Good ideas, from a user perspective the least you could do is a common
installer for these kind of things .
If the player has a web UI for settings expand that for add on / app
install .
If an app has settings , you need to figure a interface for that , maybe
expand player settings in LMS or use
In the main thread there has been a fair amount of talk about IR
blasters, relays etc. This go me thinking about the subject of software
expansion, along the lines of plugins, applets, bolt-ons etc. Now seems
like a good time to discuss how this wants to be dealt with in a
community project.

In putting together the floorplan for Gen0.5 I realized I didn't have
some important measurements, I would appreciate it if someone that
actually has a wandboard could measure these and let me know the
values.
First is the spacing between the module board and the carrier board.

As ststed earlier in the thread (I know every body hasn't read the whole
thing!), I'm leaning on running external control interfaces over USB, it
makes the hardware and drivers much simpler.
For example IR receivers, IR blasters and Relay boxes all exist with USB
interfaces. Many of these come w

Another very interested lurker on this thread (and happy Squeezelite
user).
Not sure if this is a trivial request, but it would be massively useful
to me if there was straighforward support for driving an external amp

plugin su

You'll have to add config to /etc/network/interfaces and start
wpa_supplicant yourself. Interface should be there on boot. "iwlist"
will show it.
If you want to play with bluetooth, you'll need to edit /etc/rc.local
and uncom

Watching this thread with interest.. just about to purchase a wandboard
to play with - a very interesting device.
Have to agree with Triode's sentiments. Some very interesting ideas
being put forward but a roadmap needs to be put in place.
I would like to see an initial release support wifi and
