Up until today, I didn't know that there is something called TOSLINK
miniplug and that one can have RCA and that in one port.
New setup:
- ASRock Ion 330, Lubuntu 14.04, LMS 7.9, FLAC
- *Duet* > AKG Hearo 8

If its just a matter of a different codec cant we just have LMS
transcode the stream to something the players will support?
It's a new API with a new feature set and a new streaming format.

I second that. Whomever wants to start this effort with SiriusXM,
please PM me. I'm the guy on the XMFan forum that had the conversation
with SiriusXM.

remember correctly I had to do this for my original squeezebox back in

I am going to get one as well. If someone could develop a plugin that
would turn these Chromecasts into Squeezebox playback devices (like
Ipeng playback does with airplay devices) then we would be good to
continue to use LMS for playback of our local music and any other
functioning music services

Good to know about the Rocki. Honestly, I am not interested in the

I also ordered one. Like the fact that it comes with analogue and spdif
output. Main disadvantage over LMS/Squeezelite: no central control app.
You use an app for radio, one for Streaming music (Play Music, Spotify,
Qobuz apparently coming soon) etc.
Also, no idea what kind of DAC they use, and
Yes, I'll be saying goodbye to SiriusXM. It's too bad there's no fix. I
actually thought someone here would come through to save the day.

Just ordered one for testing. Since the Google Play Music plugin
unfortunately doesn't work anymore and no-one is developing it further,
maybe I'll use this as a workaround.

Not true IMO. You can get very nice brushed steel cases for the Raspi.
Besides, the Chromecasts are not really aesthetically pleasing. There's
supposed to be hidden away. You can achieve th

Chromecast Audio announced today seems exciting, especially if they can
pull off multiroom audio in the future.

Could we offer to 'fund' it by community ?
One point which hasn't been mentioned so far is maintenance and running
cost. Not only needs new code to be written, but it has to be run, too.
Some changes may require more processing overhead than others. And if a
solution comes at longer term cost
