bitrate limiting to 192 for one player, all
synced players in that sync group will get MP3 at that same rate.
For mp3, the bit rate varies anyway during playback - the 192 is a max
value.

shutting down soon after boot.

The method that works fine for me is (and always has been):
1) do NOT set albumartist to anything! - leave it blank.
2) set the COMPILATION tag to 1
All comps now appear under Various Artists in the various Browse
menus.

If your computer motherboard and network card support Wake-on-Lan you do
not need to go upstairs. Just set the computer power saving option to
put the computer into standby and then the SB will wake it when you try
and use it to listen to music.

in the SBS settings to no avail. Is there a way around this? Do other
people have the same problem? I am running SBS7.5.1 on a 32 bit Windows
7 laptop, although it happened with Vista and previous version of SBS
too.

Now, I don't have any shortcuts/soft links from that music folder to
other locations on my computer (that I know if). so why would it still
go there?

This absolutely doesn't happen. You either get big gaps (stuttering -
because there is a wi-fi problem) or NO gaps at all.
