True, and I did this, but the output is silent as the script runs as a daemon. So, I manually ran the server and this is the issue I have after installing the port. In other words, running the rc.conf script just looks like this, with no server running: # /usr/local/etc/rc.d/slimserver.sh

I think you have your answer - the freebsd port is not being maintained. If you get it working on Freebsd, please let me know what you did to make it work. The latest version I have working in freebsd is 6.2.2. Even then, I have one where musicmagic won't work and one where it will. In the one

Actually, you can put MMM to the test by running softsqueeze. I have softsqueeze at work and SLIMP3 at home. Both use mmm. I don't know what all the settings do in the Musicmagic section of the slimserver interface, but I would love to know how to tell it not to mix in songs that are in my
