This is how it is supposed to work. The output from slimserver is
written
True, and I did this, but the output is silent as the script runs as a
daemon. So, I manually ran the server and this is the issue I have
after installing the port. In other words, running the rc.conf script
just looks like this, with no server running:
# /usr/local/etc/rc.d/slimserver.sh
My bad. Sorry.

I think you have your answer - the freebsd port is not being maintained.
If you get it working on Freebsd, please let me know what you did to
make it work. The latest version I have working in freebsd is 6.2.2.
Even then, I have one where musicmagic won't work and one where it will.

I have had similar problems when downgrading from the Nightly releases
to 6.3. I got it working by wiping out everything and starting over in
my configuration of slimserver. I am listening to a great IP mix now!

Not sure what fixed it, but I don't see the problem anymore after I
reboot? Hadn't done that in over a month, so I figured it was time.

I use rsync over the 'net from my server at work to my server at home.
Mine is a *nix system (http://samba.org/rsync/), but it works on
windows, too:

I don't know if this is actually a bug or not. The server appears to function
normally when started, but I get the following feedback when i issue the
command to start the server. I am just starting to test 6.5 in freebsd, but if
there is a way to fix this, please post.

Actually, you can put MMM to the test by running softsqueeze. I have
softsqueeze at work and SLIMP3 at home. Both use mmm. I don't know
what all the settings do in the Musicmagic section of the slimserver
interface, but I would love to know how to tell it not to mix in songs
that are in my
Does anybody have a working installation of FreeBSD and
MusicMagicMixer? If so, please email me how you got it running.
I have downloaded the new v1.5 of Music Magic, but I still
get the same error as before when I run the software.
Thank you very much in advance.

I have tried to install musicmagic on a
freebsd box that runs slimserver flawlessly. I have corresponded with predixis
support, but so far, they dont know how to fix it (I have tried all
their suggestions). Any suggestions? The error code I receive is shown below:
