I bought SqueezePlayer already.
I bought SqueezeCommander as well. It seems that support

Do you know _any_ decent tablet App for _any_ application on Android?

Actually I would love to see that.
And no, I am not going to port iPeng to Android in the forseeable

As a matter of fact, yes. However, I don't want to get in that
Android/iOS debate.
I still use SqueezeCommander as my day to day interface to all my
squeezebox devices, but I really wish someone can take the
But that should be easy to solve in SqueezeCommander, just switch to the
Add mode first. Try that with the Logi App.
Also, doesn't SqueezeCommander also have a party mode?
This is a question of trade offs and I would not want an App that
sacrifices my 95%-of-the-time use case with a nag-popup

EDIT: OK, SqueezeCommander doesn't seem to have a real PartyMode,
thought Flattermann had adopted that from iPeng, too.
But still, I believe this is easier to
Well, actually SqueezeCommander's UI is pretty much based on iPeng's UI,
albeit on an older version.
I believe what makes it more confusing is that iPeng is based on the iOS
UI which goes against the common Android UI scheme in some cases, plus
iPeng has tutorials for things like the play mode

where you sometimes have to backtrack to get out of a given context.
Yes, that's indeed different in iPeng because iPeng always shows a main
menu entry (iPad) or tab element you can just tap to get to the root.
I've purchased a 4g iPod Touch 8GB for the wife and one for the son.
Both run iPeng and both are very happy with units.
Not a big Apple fan due to the tie in with their products but the
clincher for me was that i didn't need to use iTunes at all. I use

SqueezePlayer + SqueezeCommander. Where does this combo lack in
comparison to iPeng?
OK its two Apps but apart from that?

It's questionable whether SqueezeCommander is still supported by the
developer. Flatterman has completely dropped off the radar.

Don't fret, I'm happy with Squeeze Player, it does what I want and I
would happily recommend it to any android user.

Hi,
We have iPeng on a couple of iPhones around the house but as our
squeezebox environment grows I'm looking for something dedicated in one
part of the house that can ideally run iPeng but not at too great a
cost. I have just ordered a new battery for my controller (3rd one) and
that will cover
What you're probably looking for is an iPod touch (Apple and their
fuNky captiLization...), sometimes called an iTouch. To keep costs
down, look for a refurbished one at Apple.com or elsewhere. I can highly
recommend the 3rd Generation iPod touch. If you're mostly using it for
remote control of
I can only agree with aubuti. iPod Touch 3G is perfectly fine.
BUT: you have to be careful, there are no 3rg Generation models with 8
GB, I believe, they only come in 32 an 64 GB variants, 8GB is only for
2nd and 4th Gen.
I do NOT recommend the 2ng Gen Models anymore. They work but are slower
and
We just got my daughter a current generation 8GB iPod Touch (4th gen I
believe) for $170 from Amazon. I'm shocked at how the price has come
down. This was even less expensive than a refurb of the same model from
Apple.
Local stores in our area have had them price similarly. Look out for
Yea. People don't buy as many as before since now everybody has a
smartphone. Plus it's now almost two years on the market which will
probably have brought down their cost significantly

I'm down on this option, but I may have just had bad luck.
I got a refurbed iPod Touch and the battery stopped recharging pretty
quickly.
I wish the dang things had a user-replaceable battery.
You can get a refurbed Android tablet, root and flash Ice Cream Sandwich
and use the Logitech app for
Thanks for al the advice - I'll check out eBay

iPeng ran just fine on a 2G Touch which will be even cheaper than 3G
available in 8GB.

Yes, and it still does.
It does not support iOS 5, though. And while I currently don't see a
reason to move the App to iOS 5 only (there were much bigger changes
between 3 and 4) I still can't guarantee that there well not be a reason
to remove support for the older devices in future updates.

Good point, because there is some confusion out there in the secondary
markets. As explained on wikipedia:
