Do the bottom two lines disappear while just displaying menu's? Or only
while a Now Playing screen saver kicks in?
These VFD's are rated to 100,000 hours. Though I'm beginning to
question that figure with so many SB3 owners reporting screen problems.

mine doesn't correct even temporarily. As a result, I can't read the

consider something like ethernet over powerline adapters. They often
work very well for bringing ethernet to a player.

No, the Touch does not have a video out. Some people have made nice
tv-size displays -- afaik those require you to connect the tv to a
computer, through which it accesses all the Now Playing information.
I'm not the right person to answer that since I dont own a SBT. My
guess is even if there was one, it would be very low resolution; more
appropriate for a 6-10 screen. I hope I'm wrong; and, it does offer
an HDMI 1080p or 720p output.

Well, as you probably know there is a slider bar in Settings
Interface, but it maxes out at 500. You could try editing the
server.prefs file (be sure to stop SBS first) and set it to a higher
number, but there's no guarantee you won't bork something by setting it
to a value higher than the max
Strange. I just found a bug (or something) in how the settings page
works. If you type in a number and quickly hit 'Enter' the number is
set to that value even though the display never shows a value greater
than 500 or less than 10.

I could of sworn I saw an option to display dynamic playlists in the
regular playlist folder, but now I can't find it. I've searched around
and haven't come up with anything. This is making my crazy. Maybe I had
a plug-in installed that is now not installed? I currently have the

I have a squeezebox touch.
I am trying to use the 'display' command:
playerid display line1 line2 duration
but it seems that no matter what value of duration I give the message
is only displayed for about 0.5s. Is there some trick I'm missing?

I had a SB3 display start to show all sorts of strange patterns. After
exchanging a few emails with the official help line we determined it was
a hardware fault and a new SB3 was sent to me under guarantee. Superb
service.

brightness it is steady.

with my new SB3 (Classic), I would like to just display the radio
station name (instead of artist, title or other information) when
playing any Internet radio.
I found that this is possible when I am connected to the Squeezebox
Server (using the option FILE.EXT in the choice for Title
SBS Server on your computer will always be more robust and much more
customizable than MySB.com, and player display options is just the tip
of the iceburg in features absent from MySB.

Upgraded to 7.4 and found that the new gui on the controller has
changed a great deal. It is a great step foward in my opinion, much
easier to use, I wish the webb pages looked like that.
I don´t know if I am just imagening this but it seems like the display
contrast/backlight is even

Myself, don't notice it, but the look of 7.4 is so different. I've

color, and most of the standard choices available now are either too

our little one likes to pull the cables and drag it off the bedside
table), finally the SB2 has, perhaps coincidentally, developed a fault.
In almost all respects it works, connecting to SC, acting as a bridge
for a DECT/SIP
I have noticed that when I view the info in SC 7.3.3, the name of the
show is correct.
Additionally the name of the show is correct on my Duet controller but
not my 2 Booms.
I didn't make these observations until after your post.

After about 7 hours of effort, I finally got it going. I probably spent
6.5 of those hours staring at a blank white screen. What is that
supposed to mean? On the second of the three firmware/controller
updates I got a message about a bad MAC address.

With your hint, I have figured it out! Go to the interface tab then
type the format you want in the blank space at the bottom of the list.
Then go to Players/Basic/Settings and select the new format that you
just entered on the interface tab.

this plugin regarding information presentation on those displays.
- create format-strings to your liking, e.g. ALBUM (YEAR)
- assign this format to your players display, e.g right transporter
display, middle row, small
Sounds like hardware to me. By all means try 7.0.1 but I doubt it will
make any difference. Get in touch with support and see what they can
offer.

We have a squeezebox 3 which we love. It is a great little device apart
from one thing - it now has an intermittent display problem.
From time to time the top row of pixels are dead. It now happens more
often than not. This is the case whether the unit is on or off.
Everything else works as
When my power is off, the SS is totally dark when it used to display the
time. It also now only shows the song/artist when I push Now Playing,
then reverts to the time only.
Anyone know what could be wrong?

For naming nomenclature reasons I have setup my SB3 to display Title
(Artist) on the 1st line with Album on the 2nd line.
In such a configuration my Album info is bolded and displayed more

Thanks. I will try the XM removal first. Right after I reboot the
computer, cause SlimServer will not respond...Stopped it and tried to
restart but get warning that SlimServer may be starting or stopping.
Windows Services says that it is stopping.

This information might be out there already but I finally got my SB3 to
display Chinese song titles. So I want to share the steps I used.
Here is my setup:
SlimServer 6.5.3
Itunes 7.2.0.35 (I don't think it matters)
