Finally, I purchased a used squeezebox touch on ebay, for about 300
euros. This is not cheap, but it is in a good condition.
I'm happy with it so far, sound seems a little bit better than with sb3
and it's of course more nice to use.

800 Euros is ridiculous. I paid $300 CDN earlier this year for one on
Canuck Audio Mart.
I'd suggest keeping an eye on ebay, UK / Europe audio mart, what ever
online sites you have over there until you can find one at a reasonable
price.

Here's another idea for a DAC, plus the spin-off benefit of a portable
high-resolution player. It has been collecting rave reviews and likely
to tempt me soon! Currently available for just under £300 in the UK,
plus the cost of memory cards.

Assuming 800 Euros is well over $1000 I think you can buy a used Touch
for considerably less money on Ebay. While they seem to be scarcer and
harder to find the price for an auctioned used one should be under $400
I believe. Also occassionally a forum member has one or more for sale.

The bulk of your music is probabaly bog standard 16/44.1 anyway .
Why you try difference sources try to level match them , note different
sources have different volume keep

Hi everyone,
I currently have a squeezebox 3 that I use for something like 10 years
now. I'm very happy with it, the LMS with all the fantastic plugins :
trakstat, musicip, irblaster, and so on.
It works ok so far but I would look for a better sound, it's notably
better when I play the same music
