have you tried a factory reset?
I would also suggest trying another player, so you can have confidence
it's not your touch, or, you narrow it down to your touch.
I doubt the touch wifi is contributing to your issues, but if you would

If the problem tracks sometimes work without problems, then I don't
think converting ALAC to ALAC will likely help. Regarding how to do
that. foobar2000 has converter, I use dbpoweramp for ripping converting

I just unplugged Touch thinking maybe its some kind of cache issue.
Plugged back in - one track stopped at 37sec then reset and played all

I would think the WiFi in Touch is pretty dated. Maybe using separate
WiFi router with Ethernet to Touch could boast performance?
If you want to test the "it's the touch" theory, and you don't have
another player, you can download squeezelite-X from the windows store,
or, pay a couple $ for sb player (if you have an android phone/tablet)
or ??? if you have an iphone (??? = help me ipeople :))

What has changed since you were playing them successfully? Are they in a
different playlist now, for instance? Something has to be different.
Finding that difference could be the key.

You may want to start a new thread for this question, with "iTunes
Playlists readable by rPi Server" as your subject line. It will get seen
by people that may be able to assist. Right now
After cooling off period I was able to find a cable outlet closer to my

Have you tried converting a few of the problem ALAC files to FLAC for
playback? If it solves the problem, that would be interesting.

but for some reason playback is stopping.
The problem is likely to be network but could also be some other issues
such as a combination of settings, plugins and players.

Please give a thumb drive with the files that stop, at least
Thank you for taking time to do that. I had thought that maybe I need
to reposition SB Touch. So after turning it off, reconnecting - all
those tracks played perfect.
Via iPeng I moved to Spotty and played couple of songs.
Went back to play those tracks again and every one of them stopped ~

There's nothing wrong with the files.
There's no problem with RPi 4.
There's no problem with LMS 8.3.
So the problem is your environment/network.

One reason is that ALAC files have no built in mechanism for determining
whether files have become corrupted. On the other hand, FLAC files have
a built in check-sum, created and stored
