I have used the SB3 as a bridge. It was connecting to the wireless
router as a client and allowing devices connected via an Ethernet switch

My oldest SB is a BOOM. It has been on, plugged in continuously since
purchase (I'm guessing 2008, it was when first released). Most of the
time it is showing the TIME only, but it is always on. Haven't noticed
any dimming of the screen yet.

I have an Slimdevices SB3 from 2006. It's been on continuously since
then (over 6 years now) and it works fine. I do keep the display
brightness low when I'm not using it. My Touch is about 2 1/2 years old
now and is also working fine and the Radio I bought in the Fall of 2009
is also plugging
Squeezeplay on the Touch and the desktop squeezeplay are almost
identical, the big difference is how they send audio data to the
hardware. On the Touch squeezeplay creates a shered memory segment and
forks off a separate program called jive_alsa. Squeezeplay puts audio
data in this shared segment
SB1 bought it sometime in 2003, still goes strong. However it does not
get too much play time anymore but still works well as a bright VFD

But now I purchased a Touch, for safety reasons, and now it's used, so
the other 2 Classics are backup now.
