Hello
First of all, let me tell you thank you very much for squeezepad
application which is my best purchase on ipad. This is really a fast and
smooth way to
This is great news indeed and I shall certainly support it (assuming the
costs are not prohibitive)!
I may have misunderstood but from the limited information it appears
that the plan is to have a cloud based server and local; is that
correct? If so, will the local version run on multiple OS

A cloud server focused on account management, integration with premium
streaming providers and some other exciting
That sounds very promising - thanks. I've signed up to receive the news
email and very much look forward to hearing more about it.

From the very beginning of this Community funded SB replacement, I have
been very excited.
But it went from the idea of having a device that can stream high
quality music to an amp to a Touch clone with display and buttons and
infrared etc. for users who have no smartdevice.
In other words, it

I would whish it could be something that could be a cheap alternative
to the other HW platforms (ie running on rasp. pi) giving the
opportunity to attach whichever good USB DAC one would choose - the
market is flooded wi such a vast line up of nice DACs... //just my

I agree... UI is much better done via smartphones. If one hasn't got a

It has already been stated on this thread and the Community Squeeze
announcement thread - the initial hardware is focussed on high quality
audio playback. It will support HDMI and IR over USB for its own UI as
that's easy to achieve and almost free from a hardware perspective.
However what
If you are in need of more testers perhaps a new thread is in order
giving a breakdown of what is necessary to set this all up-knowledge
base, hardware software etc. There have been so many posts over several
threads that it would probably be difficult for many to sift through it
all and grab
The released Logitech Media Server package and binaries for x86 won't
directly run on the new OS and new processor for ReadyNAS 516. I'm
looking to stream music to MANY squeezeboxes from ReadyNAS series.
Has anybody rebuilt LMS package and binaries for new ReadyNAS OS6 and
new processor?

Count me out of this project then, and I'm guessing a few others.
I don't ever want to rely on controlling my music with a
smartphone/iThing.
I'd also like to take this opportunity to apologise for 'killing' the
previous platform with my non-geekyness.
Sorry but that

Now if only we could hardness all the brainpower on this thread to help

contributions to help test it on a wandboard is appreciated)
What hardware purchase(s) would this require on the part of testers?
What

What exactly is being tested?
Is there a bug database set up yet?
A basic test setup for the moment (and very viable player for a USB DAC)
would be:
- Wandboard dual (http://www.wandboard.org/) - note there

Hardware: at the moment the only thing I've bought is the

For a distributor where you live :
Does one need to be familiar w the Linux OS ? Is the person who is only
familiar w Windows or Mac systems going to be frustrated with how this
software operates ?

For a comunity kit a black box does it for me :) why I'm suggesting more

guys design a true product , it must probably be something like Touch 2

The Wandboard.org site doesn't link any PSUs from the US distributors.
It's 5V, but how many amps are necessary with wifi? 2.1mm ID connector,
correct?

I doubt you need more than 1 amp for the board itself, but most PSUs are
2 amps to allow for powering external usb devices -

I think you might be referring to the 'add on' that 'Mherger' from
Logitech has mentioned in his post. If so, we need someone with the
appropriate skills (Java and XML?) to make a start and
why do additional work for a dead product?
Because there are many ten-thousands+ users with ReadyNAS running LMS.
Should we start a new thread asking for people with the appropriate
skills?
Yes! for all new ReadyNAS targets (1xx, 3xx, 5xx series).
