Can anybody confirm that this is a bug (or is it as designed)? If it is
a bug I will file a bug report.
To have this option working for album titles would be very handy for
classical albums. If you have for example an album with Beethoven,

Actually, I was planning to, but it looked too arduous, so I just run
slimserver on my office laptop. Works fine, plus it's a cinch to
install the latest beta.

an alternative approach to tagging Classical CDs is to make the mental
leap that CD does not have to equal album. When I started this
project I spent some time trying to get to the bottom of this, and
found discussions in various forums on the topic (sorry, don't have a
URL to hand).
I just bought a SB2 and installed the July 6th evening build of 6.1b
slimserver on a Windows XP SP2 machine. I also added AlienBBC 0.97 and
MPlayer 1.0pre7. I am using the iTunes library as the source of music
playlists.
Almost everything is working great, I can play MP3s and AACs from the

I discovered that I had to rescan the music library to get the new

I haven't used emachineshop to actually make parts, but I did model a
part and get it quoted- the prices were pretty competitive. The biggest
drawback for me was that I would have to redraw parts, since I already
model them in SolidWorks.
I have had great success with http://www.mfgquote.com

Hmm... either I browsed that article too fast, or the reviewer didn't listen
to any lossless audio during his quality auditioning session.
$4,000 system and didn't listen to FLAC? No doubt he heard some artifacts
in MP3.
Thanks,

I thought that was strange also. Especially when in his final summary
scorecard he gave a rating for PCM/WAV, but there was no corresponding
section in his review. I would have thought a critical part of the
review would be the comparison of FLAC/WAV to the CD player. That
would be a worthwhile
Whats the general view on how well SB1 SB2 will synch with each other.
I'm planning to replace one SB1 (pension it off to bedroom duties) with
an SB2 but it will spend a lot of time synched with another SB1. I see
from an earlier thread that some people were having problems with
this.

right, well, I know why this worked for me at least. It works fine once the
playlist is written out to the drive (I'm not sure hoe often, or even IF this
is done right now). The load command assumes the playlist is a file.
There is currently no immediate way to grab a playlist from the db, but
Hi Dieter,
I see that you have found the bug I filed some weeks ago for the

I have been using the synchronization feature for some time with a SB1
and SB2 and have found it relatively stable and fun to use. Most of
the time (90%) it works great. There are a few bugs that occur on
occassion, but the Slim team has been very responsive to these and have
worked hard to fix

Hi Roger,
yes, but I understand that it is working for you unter Windows XP but
not unter Linux. For me it does not work unter Windows XP. Or didn't I
understand your description correctly?
