Just some guesses but...
jdvmi - might you have both id3v1 and id3v2 tags in your mp3 files?
mp3tag will tell you if you have both. If you have different
information in the two sets of tags, its quite possible slimserver has
got confused.
wesg - you're using FLAC so that won't be your problem.

Bear in mind that this page was put together about 10 versions of

For me, parental controls are needed. What with so many tracks containing swearing I'd like a better way of managing what can get played at certain times.
As a work around I've tagged albums and tracks I know are dodgy with NotForKids so if I want to play random music I just exclude this genre.
The coolest uses would be in conjunction with Slimserver and

reviews, current playlist, or other info while the music plays. You

A couple of things to try ...
First, even though its not where you want to end up, try wired ... this
will confirm if its a network issue or something else.
Also, you mentioned mp3 ... do mp3 files generally play ok? How about
a few WAVs?
If the mp3's play, and the wm4a's don't, is that

No problems ever with mp3 playback (usually at 192kbps), the m4a's are
