Yeah, I was afraid such damage from an outside source would not be covered. Can't blame them. I'd still try the credit card extended warranty route (if that is available to you). Used 0.98 extensively tonight. A few things: The progress bar no longer works for indication of time or jumping to part of track - tapping on it simply restarts the track from the beginning; To this end, a time indication on this would be great; Favourites is great, but would still love to see New Music as an option as well; When selecting an item in a list and entering it, then going back, the selected item is sometimes (always?) displayed in the greater list at the bottom - it would be better if this was in the middle of the screen or at least where it was originally. Re: [slim] I will pay you to fix this
There's a good chance you won't even need to spend $100, lots of support (from users, not official!) here and official support on supp...@slimdevices.com. However, to help you, we need some basic info: what version of Squeezecenter are you running? What OS is it running on? What version are your players (Classic, Boom, SLIMP?) How are the players connected to Squeezecenter - wireless/wired? What format are the files you are trying to play - especially what bitrate? Does it happen for local files or just music services like Rhapsody or Napster? Have you checked that both players have individual IP addresses (look in the web interface Settings/Information) Have you tried running the Network Test (WebUI/Settings/Help)? What were the results? This will give us a basic idea of how your setup works and will help narrow down whether this is hardware/software/setup issue. Re: [slim] I will pay you to fix this
Thank you for the replies. Hope this clarifies. The little box that is connected to the Denon is the squeezebox slimserver (the website says it goes by either name) that I refer to. And yes is a little bit attitude due to fatigue with electronics not working, although I was able to get the XM radio to work. Sometimes I get upset at myself that I have to hire someone to fix things, because I never got around to getting married, then I get upset because I know that that isn't what husbands are for, and then I get worried that I get upset because I know I shouldn't. Anyway. I do not handle frustration well sometimes. Apologies. I live in south s.f. in my house. It is now playing a playlist. It played internet radio earlier this morning. The computer with the 1,000 cds on it is upstairs and that is where I try to drive the squeezebox slimserver player. The firmware is new, updated it last night when I plugged it in again. It plays one song off the playlist and stops. But when I go upstairs to look at the p.c. (yes, no apple) to see why, the screen shows that the song is playing. But when I look at the player it show the song in now playing but no sound. I gave up last night. This morning I turn it on and it works. Later today I'll turn it on and it will only play one song and then no sound. If you keep hitting play on the remote it just shuffles, no sound. It therefore works intermittintly. I had this problem a week ago and saw a few other posts on this (although the subject topics are hard to search...a variety of topics with same essential problem). Turned out that it said my ID/password for Squeezenetwork (within SC) wasn't being accepted (all out of the blue by the way and not actually connected with my SN account which works fine on SN). The little box that is connected to the Denon is the squeezebox slimserver (the website says it goes by either name) that I refer to. What website says its a Squeezebox Slimserver? We need to know which squeezebox you have connected to your Dennon? Look at the top of this 'PAGE' (http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/HardwareComparison) at the pictures and tell us which unit you have. The price point sounds like a Classic though. Next, what version of Squeeze Center are you running and on what Computer/Operating System? What file type are you trying to play (MP3, FLAC, WAV, WMA)? Also are you running a firewall or active virus protection? Also how is the played connected to the Computer upstairs: wired by Ethernet or using wireless WiFi? Without being there, we are going to need exact answers to the questions we ask to start helping and eliminating what it isn't. But without more exact details, it could be any of several things. -- iPhone *iPhone* Media Room: Transporter, VTL TL-6.5 Signature Pre-Amp, Ayre MX-R Mono's, VeraStarr 6.4SE 6-channel Amp, Vandersteen Speakers: Quatro Mains, VCC-5 Reference Center, four VSM-1 Signatures, Video: Runco RS 900 CineWide AutoScope 2.35:1 Living Room: Duet, ADCOM GTP-870HD, Cinepro 3K6SE III Gold, Vandersteen Model 3A Signature, Two 2Wq subs, VCC-2, Two VSM-1 Kitchen: Squeezebox BOOM Bedroom: SB3, GFR-700HD, Thiel 2.3, Second Boom Home Office: SB3, NAD C370, two VSM-1 Home Gym: SB3, Parasound Vamp v.3, Thiel PowerPoint 1.2 House Portable: SB3, Audioengine A5 Ford Thunderbird: Duet, Mac Mini Ford Expedition: SB3, ToughBook iPhone's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13622 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=67185 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] How to use squeezeplay or softsqueeze
pfarrell;453185 Wrote: I see a .deb to download in the 7.3 area, and I downloaded it and installed it. But I have no idea what to do next. I don't see any installation instructions in the wiki (which is very self referential on the topic of squeezeplay) and I don't see any basic usage instructions either. The .deb file does not seem to install any shortcuts or icons to start the software. How do I use this thing? I suspect this is half finished work, I haven't installed the deb package myself but when I extracted it in a empty directory it feels like it just install the binaries and not any shortcuts. It also seems like it doesn't even setup the correct paths so you can run it easily. Try to run it from a terminal prompt as: /opt/squeezeplay/bin/jive if that doesn't work, you might have to use: LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/opt/squeezeplay/lib /opt/squeezeplay/bin/jive pfarrell Wrote: I think softsqueeze is deprecated and squeezeplay is the current cool thing. But, without any installation or usage documentation, its a bit hard to tell. Let alone hard to use. Correct, SoftSqueeze is deprecated and it's menu isn't even included in SqueezeCenter 7.4 and later. As I've understood it, some third party developers plan to release it through Extension Downloader ini 7.4, in the same way as all other third party plugins are handled. -- erland Erland Isaksson 'My homepage' (http://erland.isaksson.info) (Install my plugins through Extension Downloader) (Developer of 'TrackStat, SQLPlayList, DynamicPlayList, Custom Browse, Custom Scan, Custom Skip, Multi Library, Title Switcher and Database Query plugins' (http://wiki.erland.isaksson.info/index.php/Category:SlimServer)) erland's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3124 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=67212 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

This is a fairly common problem and isn't always easy to solve. Much of the time-of-day issues is likely due to the large number of neighbors all using the same wifi radios all day in the bay area. -- SuperQ SuperQ's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2139 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=67185 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
